"Dear Mrs. [Member Name Removed]; Thank you for taking your time to write this review. Hull Brothers Roofing is a 91 year old, family owned roofing and waterproofing company here at our same Culver City business address for the last 59 years and it is always my pleasure to here from a valued new client. Again, thank you for your review. I will share it with Seth and crew! Chuck Jewett, President"
We had some good work done by them back in 2012, which is why I called today, even though, as another issue, someone in their office tried to charge us twice for some of the work they did back then.
When I called today, Jennifer supposedly took my information and then apparently it got lost. I called back a few hours later and had to start all over again with Angela. Angela said there was no record of my call but she would take my information and mark it "emergency". I repeatedly stressed that this needed to happen today as it's the day before Christmas Eve and there's water leaking into the building and if I wait for a call that won't come I can't call anyone else. She assured me that wouldn't happen.
No call.
The quality of their work doesn't matter if there are incompetent people like Jennifer in the office and you can't get someone to return a phone call. Angela was really nice and apologetic but I still didn't get a call from a roofer and now it's too late to get someone else out today.
Now I get to spend even more of my workday trying to deal with this issue.
His response was to send me a color chart and ask me to pick the colors I wanted. At this point I had enough and wrote him "You are going to find out what that roof is and get me an estimate by Wednesday. If you don't feel you are capable of that, or simply don't need the business, then let me know and I will hire a different company." All he had to do was go take a look and he could have made over $25,000 on a job (his ballpark quote.) He wrote back we should find someone else. I would recommend you not waste your time on Tim, he will just waste yours.
Once they did show up, they did an amazing job, uncovering problems with the felt that was below the tile, which they replaced as well. They didn't smash any of the ferns and orchids that surround those sides of the garage, and the roof looks lovely. They inspected the rest of the roof and left me a few tiles to shuffle into place just in case I should need one.
When Chuck came out to look over my roof and give me an estimate, everything he said about addressing my roof problems made perfect sense and sounded very reasonable. I decided to go with Chuck and Hull Brothers Roofing and I'm very glad I did.
I had a quick timeframe in which the repairs had to be done, and Chuck easily worked within the timeframe, from start to finish. He obtained the permit from the city and was ready to go. His workers showed up on time every single day they were on the job. All of them were very polite nice guys and they cleaned up before they left each day.
The city inspector came out twice as required and signed off each time with any issues whatsoever. The job couldn't have gone more smoothly and the cost was exactly what Chuck and I agreed upon beforehand. Chuck is extremely knowledgable and I have the utmost confidence in his company's work, which he stands behind with a guarantee.
I couldn't be happier with the work performed, the way it was performed and the professionalism of Chuck and Hull Brothers Roofing. I will definitely use them for any roofing issues going forward, and recommend Hull Brothers Roofing to anyone who wants a very experienced and ethical roofing company taking care of their roofing issues at a reasonable cost. Highly recommended!
"We would like to sincerely thank [member name removed] for his business and patience during the work. [member name removed] is an informed consumer and was very accommodating. He asked all of the right questions. A real pleasure to work for. Chuck Jewett, Pres."
- There was a little miscommunication with scheduling, where I had to follow up.
- The actual work was completed in 3 days
- The crew came on time and cleaned up at the end of the day
- I am very pleased with the work. It was an unexpectedly easy experience!
"[member name removed] was a pleasure to work with. We were able to show her the need for code required changes to the home's attic ventilation and the work required on the masonry chimney. She was very patient as we worked our way to her contract. She chose a great shingle color and her home looks great. Thank you so much for taking your time to give us such a great review. Thank You Chuck Jewett."
I liked the proposal, but had a few questions so I wrote them all out and sent them directly to the rep's email address. 3 days go by and nothing. Called the office and fwd'd the email to them. Took another 2 days before I receive a call back from the rep saying he hadn't had a chance to read over my questions (5), but he would get back to me the next day. Another week passed before I finally got a response to the questions.
By that time I had already hired a different company to do the roof.
I had a 1' x 3' hole in my roof caused by a raccoon. I mean seriously, exactly how long was I supposed to wait around for a reply????
They were my 1st choice; I fully intended to hire them, but just got the sense one hand didn't know what the other was doing. If it took that long to answer 5 questions that he should have known off the top of his head, how long was it going to take to install 2 roofs. I just couldn't risk it.
"We really appreciate the extraordinary efforts [member name removed] took to work with us and apologize for the poor service. At the time of her call, half of the company was working a large project at night and on weekends. We were a little unorganized here in the office to say the least. We really owed [member name removed] more detailed attention. Again, please accept our apologizes. Charles Jewett, Pres."
