 + -1 moreNeeded a gas line. Went to HD. Asked a guy there if he could help me. He said what size is it? If I knew pipe thread sizes by sight I wouldn't need help. Grabbed the one piece in the area while the guy stood next to me... wrong one.... Went to Culver City Industrial Hardware....Bang 'Do you need help?...Isle 3.On the end at the left. Got there looking at the 10 different pieces. Guy comes up points me in the right direction tells me how to install it... got some more stuff... other guy at counter gives me same good advice on how to install it while he is helping some other guy ... This is kind of help is a treasure... I've had some grumpy advice but mostly because I didn't know basic stuff. Same person on other days gives great money and time saving advice. TREASURE..... .

Description of Work: I had two patio screen doors made. One is an unusual size so it was custom. I brought my own measurements and they were fine. It took almost three weeks to get it and when they were delivered (for 35.00) they were wrong. The rubber gasket was facing outward not inward. I was told to "fix it myself" even though the shop is less then a mile from my home.

However, this store often has a better selection of actual hardware than chain stores like Home Depot, so Culver City Hardware has usually been my first stop for things like plumbing parts, screws, bolts, switches, fuses, etc. in the past five years or so. Unlike most of Home Depot's employees, the guys who work here are familiar with what they stock and where the items are in the store. This is not the place to look for lighting fixtures, refrigerators, home decor or a selection of power tools, but it has hardware that chain stores don't stock.
Description of Work: On this trip, I purchased a universal toilet fill valve.
