SIGNATURE DESIGNS LLC

This is a difficult review to write because Signature Design did great on the design, building and installation of our new kitchen cabinets ...right up until the last step. Then things went awry. By way of explanation, the last step of the process occurs when the doors and drawer fronts are installed, and in our case, the grain pattern on these doors and drawers did not remotely match the grain in the rest of the kitchen. Put simply the wood grain was way over-the-top and we did not like them one bit. The problem was that the owner of the company did like the pattern it being "natures way with wood". This is where Signature Design showed it's bad side. Prior to the delivery and installation of these doors, we had seen everything in the shop as it was being built. But such was not the case with these doors and drawers. The first time we saw them was when they were installed. Why Signature Design had not called us into the shop and allowed us to see this wood beforehand is beyond me. Had they done so, this problem would have never occurred. In the end, Signature Design agreed to replace 5 of the doors, but to my mind they should have replaced them all. Similarly, there were several tweaks that they were supposed to come back and do, but once they left, we never heard from them again. No follow-up whatsoever, and we had grown weary of the conflict. Bottom-line: The kitchen cabinetry that Signature Design installed in our home is like a Rolls-Royce with a bad paint job. They build excellent cabinets but with us, their business practices were assumptive to the point of arrogance. The did not effectively communicate nor did they willingly bend to ensure our satisfaction. It was not a pleasant experience. In hindsight, we should have gone with a full kitchen contractor that took responsibility for everything from start to finish. As it was, the associated contractor also left much to be desired ...but that is another story.
