He seems to take it very personally when I am behind on my dues. This is not the accepted paradigm for a contracted "objective" 3rd party management company. I am doing my best to stay current (lost my spouse, as well as my 16 year employment a few years back) but it's been tough going. Regardless, "personally offended" is not the way a professional should behave, especially when someone is at the desk with a check in hand. He then proceeds to say he doesn't care what the reasons are for my arrears...A statement that should under no circumstance be made, and betrays that he does indeed care, which is - like I said - very creepy.
I handed him my check, and asked for a stamped copy for my receipt, which is what his secretary always gives me. He said, and I quote: "I don't feel like going out of my way for you".
I really don't understand how someone who owns a business can behave this way...it is borderline scary how far this goes against professional, or at the very least, rational norms. Let's just say I will never go into that office unescorted again.
