Ignacio Silva

All went very well. Ignacio is a jewel of a find. However, he's gotten very busy last few years. Haven't been able to book him last time I called him. Oh well.

He did a great. He was very responsive, courteous and I would highly recommend him to anyone.

The experience was amazing. Ignacio is simply construction stud. He pays so much attention to detail, and it genuinely bothers him when something does not look perfect. I really like this man. We got along terrifically. My project was in Pasadena and he lives in Costa Mesa, Ignacio asked if he could stay in our back studio, so that he could avoid the long travel, and get an early start on the work. I enjoyed having him around. I am looking for things that he can come fix, maybe I will just break something to have him around. What a great experience. You will regret not choosing this guy.

It was a waste of my time.

Ignacio is a true craftsman. He takes great pride in his work and does an incredible job. I am a picky client and Ignacio exceeded my expectations. He is knoweledgable about all areas of construction and will tell you if he fells he is capable of doing the task. If he says he can do it he can! I will definetly use him in the future,.

I had a bunch of random things that my husband and I were unable to fix. I was sure I would have to hire several contractors to fix them all, however Ignacio was able to fix them all. He was 15 mins early for the estimate. He said he could fix everything, which I thought was amazing and exciting, but I was still doubtful. It took about 1 week to get him back to actually do the work. My only critique was he was almost an hr late. Initially I was quite irritated, however he apologized profusely and explained it was a result of construction on the 133. I quickly got over it, because he is extremely polite, friendly and pleasant to be around. He always works with a smile on his face. He got through about 1/2 the list on his first day, which was impressive and I was quite pleased with his work. He came back the following week to finish the list - this time he was on time :) He got everything done except he needed one part Home Depot was out of. He came back 1.5 weeks later with the part. I tried to give him money to reimburse him for the part and pay him for installing it, but he said we didn't owe him anything. My husband ended up tipping him, but I was impressed with his work ethic and honestly. Every time Ignacio came over he put booties over his work boots, without being asked. He was also great with my two dogs. All together he worked on 11 things in my house and charged me $400, which I thought was very fair. I was impressed with his wide range of skills and knowledge. I would definitely recommend him (and already have) to anyone who needs a handyman. If it's broken chances are he can fix it. He told me he also works on larger jobs - full bathroom remodels, tiling, etc.

Another handyman I called earlier told me door installation was a "slippery slope" which required a door specialist. He declined to take on the job. So I called at random Ignacio on the basis of his proximity to our house and a single "A" review in Angie's List. It was a risk and I was worried beforehand, but it turned out Ignacio is one of the most accomplishd, versatile workmen I have ever worked with. Polite, considerate, punctual and does work of the highest qualilty. Seems he apprenticed in Mexico, has all his own extensive array of tools and machinery, and did a truly masterful job. I was very impressed. He found the exact door style I was looking for (cheaper than Home Depot), fit it into the doorway (this was not a pre-hung door) using his own tools and machinery spread out on my driveway. It took him the entire day to install it because this is an old house and the door frame a bit askew. Then he took it outside, primed it, painted it (I bought the paints and primer), hung it. Incidentally, he knew all the subtle shades of White paint and told me the exact right shade to match other frames. He worked quietly (no radio,thank God), intensively. The result was so pretty, neat, and high quality and I was very very pleased. Because hanging a door in an existing doorway frame is such a challenge, it was required that he come back once a week later to re-adjust it. (Hot summer, frame expanded.) Not only did he adjust it, he repainted the area that he had to file down. Still looked perfect. Door has worked just fine ever since. When he left Ignacio insisted if anything went wrong again, to call him. HappilyI have never had to call him about it again. Ignacio happens to be an especially gifted workman who really takes his work super seriously. Very proud of his craft. Believe he is something of a master craftsman and can probably take on any job he is given. Even though I was worried about the language factor, it proved to be not a problem at all. If and when I ever need the services of a handyman, or decide to install more doors, I will call Ignacio without hesitation. If I'd have bought the door itself, he'd have charged me $80 to install one door. As it was, the whole job cost $200 including the door itself (but not the paints and doorknobs and hinges.)

Ignacio arrived on time and gave us a great deal. He quoted us fixed fee for the work performed and yet took his time to complete the project professionally. He was very clean and did not leave any dirt or dust behind. This guy can do anything and fixed anything. Highly recommended.
