I was given a three hour service window. Andy showed up right at the beginning of that window. He looked at the 8 yr old washer first. The banging coming from the washer wasn't from any broken part per se. He felt it was just an old machine that might be reaching the end of its useful life. The shocks were probably just wearing down. The knocking only arose with heavy loads. He said that he could put $300 worth of new shocks and associated parts and the knocking would probably go away. But, there was a likelihood that something else would fail in the near future which would cost more money. A new washer might be a better choice. He suggested doing smaller loads for the time being and then eventually getting a new washer. I appreciated the options and chose not to do any repairs for the time being. He didn't even charge me for the inspection. As for the 3 yr old dryer, he had a pretty good idea what was causing the noise. He told me the price up front so there were no surprises. I agreed to the repair. He said it was a pulley that had probably started to corrode. Once replaced, the noise was gone. Andy was polite, cognizant of where he put the appliance parts and his tools so as not to scratch anything, and he worked with a reasonable sense of urgency. I like to see excellence repeated before making any extraordinary claims about how good they are. We have another appliance repair on the horizon which will help me judge consistency. But, for today, I was happy with Andy's service and I would choose them again for a future repair.
Description of Work: I called to have both my Whirlpool washing machine and my Samsung dryer inspected. Both were making noises. I read the reviews for Costa Mesa Appliance Repair and I saw that Andy was mentioned in several positive reviews. I requested to have Andy make the service call.
