Construction Wonders

Jake Wonders is the general contractor who owns “Construction Wonders,” and he is terrific. He remodeled our kitchen from demolition to final inspection in six weeks flat. Ours was a complete remodel, taking the walls and ceiling down to the studs, hanging new sheetrock, rewiring for multiple outlets and extensive new LED lighting, setting new cabinets including an eight-foot island and some 20 feet of wall cabinets, and building cabinetry for built-in refrigerator and freezer. He also extended a wall, re-textured my ceiling, painted the walls and woodwork throughout the common areas of our home, and reinsulated the attic. All in six weeks, and we sailed through all inspections without a hitch. Jake’s sub-contractors were not only professional and competent, but also genuinely nice guys. I enjoyed having them in our home. Although he was working simultaneously on several other projects, including building a new home near San Diego State and remodeling the “murder mansion” in Coronado, he gave me his full attention, as if mine were his only job. He called every day to let me know who would be coming the next day, and when. He planned carefully and kept workmen at our home every day until the job was done. He came personally several times each week to ensure that the work was being done to his high standards, and that we were happy with what was being done. I learned about Jake Wonders from a friend for whom he had done some work including crown molding in his dining room. I’d never seen work done to that level of excellence. We are very happy with our remodel, and thoroughly enjoyed working with Jake. He is one of those men for whom “yes” means yes, “no” means no, and “I’ll be there” means I’ll be there. He used standard written contracts, but I found that his handshake was worth far more than paperwork. I am highly recommending Jake wonders to all my friends.
