Charged 600 for repair that lasted a week. Came back out to quote a new system and texted me a picture of the website as a quote. They said it was a $16k system, but would give it to me for $10k since it was a 'floor/display' model

A/C stopped cooling about 630pm Friday night when the outside temperature was still close to 100 degrees.  Phoned Total Comfort at about 7-730 pm and the person who answered the phone said a technician would be phoning me back.  At about 945 pm another person (not a technician) phoned and apologized stating they had misplaced my paperwork.  So, an appointment was set up between 9 am and 12 noon the next day (Saturday). This person also suggested to go on their web site and print out the coupon for #70.00 off on a service call.

  The technician showed up at around 150pm.  The "RUN" capacitor had completely failed.  Luckily the technician had a spare in his truck.  We had cool air coming out of the vents by 3 pm.

A few things to note.  This was the hottest week-end this year, so Total Comfort was overwhelmed with all the A/C customer reports. The technician that showed up at my house (Andrew) said they had 10 service crews working that weekend day.  The $70.00  coupon was used.  I would of never thought of going on the web to check for coupons.  The reason I phoned Total Comfort was that a friend of ours used this company earlier in the week and was very much impressed with their work.  I have no problems with the paperwork being misplaced (they were honest enough to tell me the truth) and the technician being late the next day  Repair work can take minutes to troubleshoot or hours.  Besides, I was out earlier (12 noon) and our freeways near us were slow moving (travel times could not be estimated with all the traffic).  I certainly would use them again in the future.

My attic air conditioner had a stopped up drain, causing water to flow out a secondary drain pipe. I made an appointment for a service call and agreed to the service call fee of $79. Two men arrived as scheduled. I should have known I was not going to be happy when one of them handed me his inch-thick binder of predetermined prices. Within ten minutes they had found the drain and cleared it of whatever was stopping it up. It didn't appear that it even required any tools. Then they presented me a bill for $194. That works out to $1164/hour. Not a reasonable fee for the work performed. Beware of repair people with notebooks full of price lists! If you are handed one, ask the guy to point to the relevant page and price; then send them away if they won't come down.

It was 108 degrees, and our old central air conditioner failed. I spent a day trying to find the problem, without success. I called a couple of companies which were highly rated on Angie's List, but the earliest service appointment they had was in four days. I then called Total Comfort and ndash; also highly rated, but with fewer total ratings. They were up-front about the pricing of their diagnostic/service call, and explained their policy to discount the service call if the recommended work is performed. They had a technician working in our neighborhood and he was able to get to us within an hour. He diagnosed the problem (bad relay) very quickly, and called me to explain the problem and the repair required, including the price. Since it is a common problem, he had the required part on hand. He replaced it, then checked and tested the system and ndash; all for a very reasonable price (service call discount helped). At my request, he also diagnosed a problem with our furnace blower not going on. Turns out it's a bad igniter. Blower won't go on if no heat and ndash; no heat if igniter doesn't ignite. He said they could get a new igniter right away, but it's an expensive part and the price seemed a bit high and ndash; they may be able to find it for less if we're not in a hurry. If we wanted them to do this, there would be no diagnosis charge, since they already know what the problem is. we'll definitely have Total Comfort do this work as well. Chris, the technician was great - polite, knowledgeable, and very professional. We couldn't be more pleased with Total Comfort!

I called for an appointment on Tuesday morning and they had a representative from the company to the house that afternoon. The temperature outside was in the triple digits and the house was very hot. Chris Stuart was professional and quickly worked to address the situation. Within a couple of hours the duct was repaired and cold air was blowing. I would definitely use this company again.

We decided to contact Total Comfort because our son had recently had his air conditioning replaced. He conducted an exhaustive search and received several different quotes. We were impressed with the work done at our son's home, so decided to hire them for the job. Dave, the owner, came out and gave us an estimate. We made the decision, and he then scheduled his crew for the next week. On the morning of installation, the crew showed up exactly on time and finished the job in about six hours. They did a great job, and we are very pleased.

Called a few and selected Total Comfort because they were local and sounded like they knew what they were doingand the price was fair. When Chris, the serviceman, arrived and opened the door it did not look good and he said so. He gave me choices but the only one that made sense to me because I plan to live here for a while was also the most expensive. They had to order a part and when it came in we scheduled this day to do the work. They service everything and replaced the damaged part that had nothing to do with the normal service. They cleaned up everything - not just where they were working but the fan and motor looked like I could almost eat off of it also.

If you want good work at a fair price call them.

I had received a quote from another vendor and decided to get a second from Total Comfort, Inc. to compare prices. When I called the office everyone was very professional and I was put through to someone for a rough "over the phone" quote. The person asked me to make sure I gave him the exact information from the first vendor so he would be quoting the exact same product and then to my surprise they quoted $900 less ! I then made an appoint for them to come out to our home for a formal estimate on a Friday. The owner Dave was very professional with no hard sell and even said they would repair some pinched duct work for free. He also said that the two men doing the work had been employed with him for about 15 years. I signed an agreement and payment would be due after the job was complete (no deposit). Tuesday the truck arrived 10 minutes early and the two gentleman greeted me nicely and were very humble. They put down drop cloths to protect our floors where needed. All their work went smooth and they were unobtrusive. All the work was completed by 3pm. No messes were left, our bathrooms were clean and we had a wonderful new AC system. They took a credit card for payment and left us with a customer survey to be mailed in, which tells me that the owner cares about his business.
