Called the number and they said that they are no longer in business

Went great. Eric came by, set a date , and did the job. He ran into a problem, it was dark outside, came back the next morning and finished the job. I was completely satisfied with the work and he was very fair with pricing. I would not hesitate to have Eric work on my home again.

He wasn’t very reliable. He came once and he said that he would come back and he never did—he did that twice and he never called back I had to call him.

Phillips & Sons did an amazing job on all of the repairs needed throughout our home. I contacted Phillips & Sons and let them know that I needed this work to be done ASAP so we could list our home for sale. They came the very next day to do a walk-through of my repairs and started work the very next day. During the walk-through, they clearly explained to me what they would do for each different project and there wasn't a single thing on my list that they couldn't tackle. The next day, they showed up right on time and were prepared with all the necessary tools to get the job done. They worked quickly and efficiently and did all of the jobs to perfection. Since my husband works from home and some of the work was in his home office, I told them they needed to work quietly and would have to work around his schedule. They respected my wishes and did an excellent job making sure to not disturb my husband and worked with him to get the jobs done when it was convenient for him and not them. All of the work they performed at my house was excellent. Tom and his son Eric were a pleasure to work with. They know their stuff and they are really nice and polite guys. We would definitely work with them again.

Everything went well.  He came with his son and grandson and they worked for two days to get it all done.  They work quickly and I believe do a good job.  Tom let me know what he could and could not do which I appreciated.  Seems to be able to do just about anything but with some things says "I can do it, but I'm not very good at it."  .  They are  a hard working and honest  family.    I'm sure I will be calling them again in the future.

It two weeks from the time he assessed the job to be done to the time he sent me the estimate. He did contact me once during that time to let me know he was having a hard time getting a hold of his plumber. He did not send me the estimate until after I had contacted him to let him know I had found another contractor.

I would definitely recommend them.  I thought their prices were reasonable and they were able to get the work done.

I called Phillips & Sons to obtain a quote for Handyman Services on Thursday, Nov 6, 2014.  I reached his voicemail during normal business hours (1st clue) and the vmail stated a return call would come within 24 hours.  No call back, until one week later on Thursday, 11/13/14 with the explanation "I had sick kids - and couldn't get back to you.  Can I come out to give you a quote now?"
My husband said No.  We had discussed this, and felt if there was no more professional ownership than this shown at the onset, we certainly did not want to engage with this unprofessional contractor for anything going forward.
A pet peeve is service provider oriented companies that do not place importance on answering phone calls,or following thru on what they state is their business practice (in this case the promise of a return call in 24 hours).  This lack of professionalism is one more step in the weeding-out selection process.

They arrived on time and were able to repair everything in a timely fashion.  They were prompt as promised and professional.  I had an overall good experience with their work and felt the pricing was fair.

needed shelves built in 2 closets in room used as office and extra shelves in large master closet.  They arrived with all the proper materials needed and did a fabulous job with the shelves.  Also was having trouble with ceiling fan - they removed existing and replaced with new fan.  On an earlier visit they spent some time trying to figure out why a ceiling fan would not work - even climbed in the attic to walk the wiring.  I had a remote missing for one of my fans and they arrived with a spare remote (no charge).  Tom and Eric are polite and pleasant to be around and I will be preparing more lists of things that need to be done.  That they have been criticized for not being available on weekends because they are raising kids is ridiculous - more folks should put the kids first !!!  I will definitely be calling them back to do more work Monday thru Friday.....
