The awning is 7 feet wide by 17 feet long. Attached to the wall of the house on the upper edge and supported on a metal frame. The awning was fabricated and installed by Concept Awning and Canvas Co. in 2007. They repaired wind damage in 2010. The owner of this company has retired and the business is closed. Researched Angie's List and then various company web sites. Chose Affordable Awnings as liked the projects shown on their web site and that they were reasonably close to Highland. Telephoned Affordable Awnings and left message. They called back, set appointment for January 16 to look at job. "Zach" arrived within the stated time window. Looked at job and quoted price to fabricate and install new fabric. The same style and colors as the original were available. This was a plus for us. We accepted quote and made down payment. On January 24, Brian came, again within the time window stated, and made the careful measurements they needed so that the new fabric would fit the existing frame. In early February, Affordable Awnings called to set installation date of February 7, afternoon. Two installers arrived during the time window stated and went to work. New awning looks very good. Workmanship is high with careful attention to details. An important detail is attaching the main fabric sheet to the frame at several places to prevent wind flutter and flap. This flutter and flap is what damaged the original awning. Installation complete in about 2 hours. Old fabric removed and hauled away. Site clean and tidy. Paid balance due on contract.
