Our hot water heater gave way late at night (fortunately it was housed in a shed outdoors!). This was at our house in BERKELEY, CA. Called Water Heater Masters first thing in the morning. They dispatched someone to come give an estimate. The gentleman I spoke with on the phone was very helpful, answered a lot of questions that I had come up with after some basic web research (conventional v. tankless, etc.), Based on what I had learned from my research, my sense was that I was getting the straight story from Water Heater Masters.. I called three other places for estimates. Water Heater Masters wasn't the cheapest, but they definitely weren't expensive -- right in the expected and reasonable range. I really had a good sense of confidence after speaking with their main office and compairng that to the tone and information provided by the other oufits I called. Once we let Water Heater Masters know we were ready, they had someone on the job very fast. It very professional installation of a high quality water heater with appropriate attention paid to mounting the water heater in a sturdy fashion and bracing it for quakes. Our hot water was back on before noon!! Very pleased with the service we received from Water Heater Masters. I highly recommend them.

They were great.  The job got done quickly and the installation was very high quality.  The work area was clean afterward and they took away my old heater at no extra charge.  They even installed a new wood base for the water heater to sit on because the old one had water damage from the old leaky heater.  
The only issue I had was that I had no way to double-check their price for the job.  Given the leaky heater, it had to be taken care of same day, so I didn't get multiple bids.  The price seemed a little high, but I have no reason to think I didn't get a good value.  They installed a Bradford White unit, which I understand to be a good one.

Michael, the owner came out and provided a very honest and transparent bid.  He spent his time making sure that I understood everything, and instilled enough confidence in his company that I went ahead and had him replace my old tank water heater with a new tankless one.  It went really smoothly, and can't be any happier.

Water heater started leaking the previous night.  Called this company at 6am, right when they  open and Matt answered.  I was able to set up an appointment same day between 9-10am and the Bryan arrived at 930.  He took a look at it and agreed that the heater needed to be replaced.  He mentioned that it would take 2 hours total to replace the water heater.  Bryan was very professional and entertained all the questions that I had .   He did his work pretty efficiently.  2 hours later and $1150 poorer, 8-), Bryan was done.  

I would not hesitate use this company again.  Thumbs up. 

Fast service and good price. They tried to sell vertex system but over priced relative to energy savings and even consumer reports said they aren't worth it. They quoted 4500 even though the unit cost about 2100 and the mfg claims it is easy to install. Although it needed new vent to outside, there was no other clear reason for the markup. Hence we went with a traditional water heater and the price and install was excellent

Though the cost was a bit more than we had initially figured on for the project, it turned out that for the quality of the water heater installed (a professional grade Bradford White) they were the most reasonable of the companies who we spoke to (both those in and out of Angie's List). Matt (the owner) was very easy to talk to about our needs, the options available and the details of the various tanks. He we talked about 8am, and he had his tech, Will, there to do the installation within an hour and the job was done by 11:30. Will was very courteous and professional and went about his work with great care as to how it was done.

We have a tankless water heater and we noticed it was leaking on Friday evening, a few days before our family holiday party.   I ended up calling Water Heater Masters on Sun afternoon and was surprised that someone answered.   It turned out it was the owner, Matthew.   We scheduled an appointment for the next day, Monday.   I was fully prepared and truly expected that we would have to replace our unit which would of been pretty expensive.   It turns out the rubber O-ring on the hot water output side of the unit needed to be replaced.   Matthew installed a new generic O-ring and it solved the problem, but he suggested we order the O-ring from the actual manufacturer of the unit and he would come back when we receive the part and install it at no-charge.    Sure enough he came back after we received the part and replaced the O-ring.    All I can say is this company had integrity and impeccable service.   I would highly recommend them to others.

I came home on New Year's Day to discover a puddle under my water heater! Well, it wasn't a total shock; the thing was 25 years old. I called Water Heater Masters that night; they were closed, but I left a message requesting an estimate and continued making calls. The next day, Matt called me back at 7am (I might not have been entirely awake...) and quoted me a price of $1050 for a 40 gallon Bradford White professional-grade heater. That was $300 cheaper than the next closest estimate by a licensed plumber, so I jumped on it. Will was here by 8am and done by 9:20. He was punctual, professional and friendly, and the work looks great so far!

Needed a new water heater and I called on Friday and had my new water heater installed Saturday morning.  They showed up on time and installed it in a few hours.  Very professional and courteous. 
The water heater started making a loud noise so I called Sunday morning at 9am and they had someone out there by noon to fix it.  Now it is working perfectly.  Great service at a moments notice and that is hard to come by now a days. 
I would highly recommend to any of my family and friends without a doubt!

It was an emergency and it was a weekend. It was not cheap but no water heater installation is cheap. They were very responsive and there were no complications. I don't know about the energy efficiency on this water heater. The electric bills are pretty high. The quality seems to be fine.

They were professional and punctual. The price was fine; it was probably average and what I expected. I would absolutely use them again.

Another company checked our leaking water heater and told us that it is unfixable and we need to get a new heater. They could do it for $1,700, but if we would do it that same day they would give us $200 discount. We decided to shop around to see if there are other options and that's how we discovered Water Heater Masters. We called and asked for a quote. Matthew suggested that it would be better if he would stop by for a free estimate and give us an exact price instead of guessing. He came over. He checked our heater and asked to remind him WHY EXACTLY WE WANTED TO CHANGE OUR HEATER??!! Yes, the pipe was leaking, but the heater was perfectly fine. Matthew fixed that pipe in the next 30 min for $165. We were speechless and grateful for his great business ethic and professionalism.

I noticed water leaking from the water heater.  It is an old heater so I figured it was time to replace it.  It was a Friday so I was concerned that it would not be until the following week before I could get someone there to do the job and that the leak might become more serious.  I went through Angie's List and found Water Heater Masters. Since I did not need the services of a general household plumber I thought Water Master Heaters  would be a good resource.  I telephoned and left a vmail message which was returned within the hour.  They said they could be at my home in the next two hours and they ended up arriving sooner than that.  The man doing the work immediately assessed the situation and we agreed it was time for a new water heater.  He worked very quickly and the old heater was removed and the new heater was installed and working within two hours of his arrival. He also strapped it to the wall for earthquake safety.

Great service.  Called on Sunday afternoon, had someone out first thing Monday morning.  Will was courteous, friendly, and informative.  Patient and answered all of my questions.  Nice to my kid.  Would definitely use again.

A great experience overall, very helpful in all arrangement over the phone, from initial call for help all the way to final details of payment. Their tech arrived on time, work was completed and cleaned up after work was completed. overall a very satisfactory experience. I would absolutely use them again if necessary.

The free estimate was conducted by phone with Matt.  He answered all of our questions fully, confirming that we did not need to install a larger unit and that all usual pipe and/or valves that needed to be replaced would be included in the quoted price.
The installer, Bobby, showed up within the stated time period, which was only two hours after the initial contact. He got right to work and was efficient, neat, and skilled.  He removed the old unit, took out some unnecessary pipes that were left from an old solar heating unit, and quickly installed the new unit.  He then demonstrated the thermostat operation, which is very different from the previous unit's, tested the operation, and cleaned up the area.
The price was reasonable. The unit has a good warranty (and looks nice ).  The Angie's List discount was applied with no problems.
My husband is a former plumber so he kept an eye on the whole install, and was pleased with the entire experience.

The installer, Mike, showed-up on-time. He worked quickly and safely with no issues or problems what-so-ever. Total time on job site was less than 3 hours. Site was left clean. I would use these guys again in a heartbeat. Thanks!

I was really impressed with Water Heater Masters. They replaced our old tankless water heater with a new one. I had been thinking of going with a tank, since it's less expensive and we had the space for it, but they rightly pointed out to me that even a large tank wouldn't be able to fill the extra-deep bathtub we have. I was impressed with their professionalism - they showed up on time, did the work as promised and cleaned up after themselves. I have also called them once with a question on the heater, and they were really patient and helpful with answering my questions. I haven't rated them on price because I'm not sure how they compare to other water heater companies. The heater was expensive (to us) but of high quality, and I think it was worth it.

I was truly impressed with the professionalism, timeliness, friendliness, and speed shown by water heater masters.  They also came in as the low bid to their competitor companies--by thousands of dollars!  They had a can-do attitude which was very welcome, as I'd been told that I would not be able to put the new water heater where I wanted it--but they just did it!
The only thing that they might have done better--something I'll now have to deal with--is they assumed I was bringing someone in to remodel the kitchen, so they didn't need to remove the old gas line sticking out of the kitchen wall.  I'm needing to do the remodeling myself, so it will be costing me to bring in another professional to cut that pipe still sticking out of the wall.  Everything else was done quite beautifully though, and we have been enjoying the hot water with fabulously improved pressure--thanks guys!
