Simple Builders

Went well. Fast. No extra cost. Actually did a bit extra. Work done about a year ago but Angies list had a glitch so review didn’t go they when i actually wrote review.

Had a major home repair that I wanted addressed before the rains came. I talked to quite a few people and they didn't want to start so close to winter. Gil and Able didn't mind about the start date and took care of all the permits and plans promptly. When we did get some rain Gil made sure the job site was secured. The project was completed on budget and Gil even took care of a couple things that were not on the contract. I had already purchased paint for the project and offered to his crew. I also helped out with a few things between visits. I was very pleased Gil took some of my final payment for my time and materials. Highly recommend.

Simple Builders was the best! Gil and his team first worked with the city of Berkeley to get all the required permits (not an easy task). They installed our deck, which is now the best “room” in the house. They then converted our garage into a studio apartment. They did all the plans, got all permits, did the work on schedule and on budget. Gil and his entire team was professional and respectful throughout. I would definitely hire them again!

We were looking to have popcorn ceilings removed from three rooms in our house. We researched four different contractors for the job and Simple Builders was the first estimate we received. Able and Alma were the representatives that came to do our estimate. They were both very pleasant and demonstrated a lot of knowledge. They answered all of our questions and explained exactly what they could do for us. The written estimate they provided us was very detailed listing each item separately to make it clear we understood what to expect. We followed up with three other estimates. In the end, Simple Builders estimate was neither the cheapest nor was it the most expensive. We chose to go with Simple Builders mainly because we liked their detailed estimates and we really liked Abel and Alma. After selecting them, the owner Gil Mimran came to meet with us to discuss the project. We learned they were a new company and his passion for making things simple to understand for his customer really made us feel good about our choice. In the end, we are so happy we chose Simple Builders. The project was estimated to take a week and was completed in 8 days. Most of the work was done while we were out of town. We had a family member overseeing the project while we were gone. We were getting reports about how incredibly hard Abel and Alma were working and how clean they left things when they finished each day. The fact that the two of them were able to complete the entire job by themselves was nothing short of amazing. They worked long hours and made sacrifices in order to complete work in the downstairs rooms in time for our return home. This allowed us to have rooms to sleep for all of us including my sister that spent the night with us before returning home the next day. The last four days of the project, they continued working while we were in the house. Watching how hard and clean they worked was really something to see. They were very meticulous in making sure the work was as perfect as possible. We cannot stress enough how impressed we were with both Abel and Alma. We highly recommend Simple Builders to anyone who is looking to do any type of project. If you are also lucky enough to get Abel and Alma on your project, we guarantee you will be very satisfied. Any future work we need done, Simple Builders will be the company chose.

The entire team was professional, totally organized, detailed focused and a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend them for any remodels or construction project. You'll be amazed at the quality and process!

The best ever! They were thorough, professional, courteous, and demonstrated expertise. They were on time and left their work areas clean at the end of everyday. I rate them A+++ and will definitely be hiring them again and again...I could not be happier with the completed job.

Gil was extremely responsive. Our initial talk, setting up an appointment for an estimate, or scheduling a date for the work —Gil was lightning fast getting back to me, but I also was never rushed. He always promptly followed up with texts so when and what things were happening were always clear. Before work started on my ceiling we discussed other future projects-refinishing floors, electric work, adding a bathroom ...and then he asked if there were anything else he could help me with. I was having trouble with the gate on my fence. I need to use that gate when I walk my 130lb dog. I went back to my job and they did the ceiling work ( friendly and fast workers) and they reset my gate - at no extra charge! WOW.

My wife and I recently bought a new house that needed some attention in a lot of areas cause it was dated, we searched for a contractor that could do the work but after meeting more than couple we realized that we need to understand much more about the finish products we want to use in order to get a better idea of how much it’s gonna cost us. The only contractor that gave us help with the design and a really thorough estimate of the finish materials was Gil and of course after couple of meetings we decided to move forward with him. The price was reasonable and the workmanship and the workers were great, we are delighted with our new kitchen and bathrooms and wanted to thank Gil for all of his ideas and help along the way.

Gil and the crew from simple builders did a great job on my master bathroom remodel within schedule and within budget!! The workmanship was great and the guys were very kind and polite cleaning the job site everyday and the final result was fabulous. Would hire them again in the future without a doubt!

They are wonderful.Will recommend them everyday. Very respectful, did the work. Both bathroom had to be completely gutted out. One bathroom had a walking in shower. Happy camper. The second one they did the whole thing. More then please.

It was great. They did a great job. I would use them again. The price was reasonable and they were very responsive.

We have hired Gilad and his crew for both our house and Community Center and could have not been happier. One of the projects was a complicated job and involved lots of different types of work that standard contractors yet it was done perfectly. From the plans down to the small details, GIlad had everything taken care of. The jobs were done in record time and under budget. the quality was great. I highly recommend Gilad and Simple Builders. I got Gil’s contact from a friend that referred him based on previous work completed. As the owner of a multi-unit residential building in Alameda, each time a tenant leaves I renovate the entire unit. I hired Simple Builders to complete the kitchen, bathroom, floors, and paint of the entire unit. Gil gave me an estimate of cost and time to complete the project and I decided to go with him based on his responsiveness and knowledge of what I was requesting. Everything turned out great. His team completed the job within our budget and time frame, in time for our new tenants to move in. He was able to take care of everything- picking up all the materials, paints, flooring, etc., from different manufacturers and with exceptional taste and without any extra expenses outside of what we initially agreed upon. I would hire him again without hesitation.

Simple Builders made my project a smooth ride. At first I was extremely nervous about the whole project as this was my first remodel rodeo. Nonetheless, Gil is extremely patient and took the time to explain the process to me. He also listens to your plans and then enhances them with his ideas. His crew is timely and professional and their work speaks for itself. Every time anyone sees the new bathroom they say ‘Wow’.

He's very good. Did extra job for me. It was terrific. He was always on time. Completed the job on time. The price was the same even though I added something. Very clean and they cleaned up after themselves.

Very good! I'm very happy about the worked that they did and I would hire them again to put a new roof, renovate my kitchen and also for my living room. They were always available whenever I called them.
