This review is long overdue...it was an all day job, but all went well. They got the permit and coordinated with PG&E and the Concord inspector before and at the end of the job. They arrived about 7:30 a.m. and the electricity was back on at 6:00 p.m. when PG&E was able to come back a little over an hour after the job was finished. Only one issue came up during the job, but was resolved at our mutual satisfaction at no extra cost. Jothi is stress-free to deal with, and very honest and knowledgeable.
This is one of very few contractors I will keep using and have absolutely no worries about it! They'll be back this year - two ceiling fans have failed.
And for whatever reason, Jothi was the only electrician who called me back of the four I tried, and I'm glad that he did.
It has been over a month and he has not called to schedule install of recess lighting even though supplies are here. Guess they are mine now.
I would not recommended Redwood Electric as each time Jothi, the owner , would come and do some of the work, then he would receive call and go to another job never finishing my work. Seemed like he was just fitting me in between other jobs and it didn't feel good or work for me.
Seems like a nice guy but apprentice is slow and work was done so slowly
I would not recommend to others in need of electrical work.
* When I unpacked one fan delivered by the manufacturer, a vent had been damaged in shipment and the fan blades could not turn freely. I was ready to send it back, but Redwood Electric said they'd fix it for no extra cost. It took them 10-15 minutes to fix it (they pounded-out the vent sheet metal) and when done the fan worked perfectly. I am impressed they threw in the extra task at no charge and saved me a big hassle.
* When installing the metal inserts for one of the ceiling vents, initially one was somewhat cocked to one side, i.e. it didn't line up with the nearby wall. The installer realigned it and I said and quot; That looks good to meand quot;, but he wanted to adjust it a bit more. He did and I couldn't tell any difference, but he showed me the measurements to the wall were now right-on rather than very slightly off. I am impressed he spent an extra 5 minutes to do it right.
Redwood did an excellent job from start to finish. Jothi, the owner, personally performed the work. He showed up on time and was flexible with respect to schedule including being open to changes that arose. Attention was paid to detail: care was taken to be minimally invasive in locating the transformer short. Additionally, circuits were tested before an GFI circuits were installed.
Work was well planned to accomadate members of the household. Additons to the work were done with adequate changes to the schedule. This included adding two outdoor circuits and installation of an over-ride switch for the attic gable fan.
Jothi is easy to work with and is very professional and provides alternatives and helpful suggestions to help with energy efficiency and safety and environmental concerns. I would recommend his electrical services.
