They are fabulous. They're a little expensive but they're very good.

They're good, they're honest, they're efficient, they give us a rental car.

As a woman it's not always easy to find mechanics who speak to you as a smart human being in a reasonable tone. So you don't feel talked down to by those guys at all, I never have.

We had a miscommunication with a person covering the service desk while the usual person was out. I intended to call to ask to speak to the manager, but before I got to it, he called me, apologized and offered an appropriate remedy. We were very impressed and will return.

They were great. They prompt, courteous and clean.

It took them 2 days to get it working; it was a good turn around. They were fair with giving me a list of everything that was wrong with it He told me what we should fix first and what was worth spending money on. Every mechanic there was very professional, they provided a good service and I would go there again. I wished Angie's List would let me give them an A+.

I was especially impressed when my wife find out of their service; they treated her just the way they treated me.  The only comment I got was that their place was a little hard to see from the street but otherwise; there's nothing wrong with them after all.  They were great.

They did a bunch of things for me because my car was a wreck and they're very good. The price they charged me was reasonable. When they found out that there was a piece that we needed that was really expensive he didn't just order it and assume we had to get it, he actually ask around and got one that was used. He went out of his ways to save me money. Everything was on time, explained things nicely and he wasn't patronizing. The place is super clean and they're super professional. They got me in at a reasonable time and got me out. I got a free rental car when my car is into them they get me a free rental car which is right across the street, super convenient.

In short, I had the worst experience with these guys.  They are smooth talkers but they do not stand behind their work.  They are unprofessional and dishonest.  The entire story follows:
I originally brought the car to Mekatron for a timing belt replacement.  Within 50 miles of picking up the car my check enngine light came on.  Ian blamed it on "steam cleaning the engine".  I then started to hear knocking and pinging sounds.  Ian blamed it on "bad gas".  I insisted that they inspect the car, which they did, for $200!  They found nothing.  The engine light and noises continued so I insisted they reassess the car.  They now claimed my car needed a valve job.  I reluctantly agreed to the $2500 valve job.  After completing the job, I still had engine noise.  This time they found that the timing belt was incorrectly adjusted.  Keep in mind the timing belt was the first repair they did.  They repaired this and the noises went away.  I believed and a second opinion for a Professional shop agreed, that the engine problems, and need to for the valve job, where likely the result of the incorectly installed timing belt.  Ian and Michael refused to admit any fault or refund any money,  To make matters worse I had engine problems again, just over a year after Mekatron's valve job.  I needed another valve job!  Mekatron stated since they had done the work over a year ago it was no longer under warantee.  I took the car to another shop that did excellent work and have had no problems since.

I couldn't recommend them highly enough. I've been using them for 25 years. I travel 100 miles to have them work on my car; that is how much I think of them. My car has well over 300,000 miles on it. The last car that I had was the first car that I had them work on and it also had over 300,000 miles on it. That car was a Toyota. They are British so their manner is always calm even when things aren't calm. They are patient and kind. They explain things in great detail. They are very knowledgeable. Their pricing is fine. I’ve never found it to be too high. Frankly the quality of the job is such that I wouldn’t shop. These guys do such good work that I wouldn’t shop. They can compare prices when I’ve talked to them so they know what stuff costs and they are competitive.

They have been servicing my car for 7 years. I primarily go there because I trust them. They aren’t the cheapest place around. I’ve gone in because I’ve been concerned about something and they have come out and looked at it and said it was nothing so when they say that I need something, I trust them. As a woman they have always treated me with respect and consideration that I want my car taken care of.  If they have to keep my car overnight, they will get me a rental.  They are fabulous. The price is worth it to me because I know they are truly fixing what needs to be fixed.

Minor hiccup in scheduling an appointment on-line due to a compute problem on their end but very responsive once they realized the error.
They are not the cheapest auto repair shop around but you pay for quality work.  They are very through and provided me with a list of additional work that should be performed on the vehicle in the future.  No pressure to have unnecessary work done.
They stand behind their work and I would use this shop again for any of my vehicles.

They know what they are doing, in my experience, better than the dealer.  They are pleasant.  The workplace and office are clean.  They are knowledgable.  They take care of getting you a rental car at the Enterprise lot across the street.  Their work is good.  They are much less expensive than dealers.  I recomment them highly.  I have always had good experiences.

They are friendly, professionals, and ready to explain any concerns.  I am more than satisfied.

Made appt in advance. Dropped car off around 9am and discussed car history (first time visit) and service to be done. They arranged for free rental car from across the street. Rec'd call around 3:30pm that car was ready. Was told there were a few things to keep my eye on and would probably need attention within the next year, but was not pressured to have addt'l maintenance done then.

I spent about $300 on that work. They are very friendly, really took the time to listen and when they put the car up they really investigate it and do basic checks. I get my oil changed and they take care of everything. They are very honest with you and I also stop by and ask various questions about my car and they don?t charge me anything. They know my car and its history, so it makes it a little easier to go in and talk to them.

Ian and Michael send out reminders for which of your cars needs what service when, so it's easy to keep them maintained. We've used Mekatron for 16 years because they are the best diagnosticians, the most honest, and the most competent and up-to-date imaginable. Their philosophy is that if you take care of your car, it will last you for many hundreds of thousands miles, and our cars have done just that.

The Hyundai had not had regular preventative maintenance done for several years, so we took it to Mekatron to catch up. Our first visit was actually in late 2009, where they assessed everything that needed to be done, and recommended the most urgent repairs that needed to be done then for safety (about $500). Then this spring we returned to get the rest of the work done. They thoroughly explained everything that needed to be done and why, so we never felt like we were being ripped off. They needed to keep the Hyundai overnight to wait for a part, so they provided us with a rental from the Enterprise office right across the street (no cost to us). When we got the Hyundai back, it performed noticeably better. Although the total cost was pretty high, it didn't bother me too much since we hadn't spent anything all those years we had ignored doing preventative maintenance. I also got routine maintenance done on the Honda at the same time, for about the same price as the dealer charges. I thought about giving them a B for price, but I think an A is warranted, since you really get what you pay for. Their service-desk staff is very knowledgeable and friendly, and will explain things in as much detail as you want. Their technicians get basically the same training as the techs at the local dealerships. And the little extras - like the rental car when they needed to keep our car, or free rides to BART - make the whole experience of getting our car worked on there as painless as possible.

Our Lexus 300 SUV would make a high pitched scraping sound when braking while turning slowly, for example into a parking spot. We had Lexus of Concord check out the car first. The Lexus dealer did not test drive the car and diagnosed the problem as under inflated tires. The problem continued. We took the car to Mekatron based on Angie's List reviews. They concluded that the wrong brake pads had been installed. Each of the four pads showed a lip at the top where the pads had extended beyond the disc. They put in appropriate pads and thee problem stopped. To Lexus of Concord's credit, they gave us a credit for the brake job on which they installed the pads that wore improperly.

First they were going to change the spark plugs with the tune up, but after looking up my car, they called to say the plugs did not need changing yet. I was very grateful to find a shop not interested in doing unnecessary work.
