We called seven Angie's List providers, heard back from ZERO. This was one of the seven.

After 4 tries, I finally reached him (never returned my other 3 calls/texts). He said he'd come by and look at my issue the next day but then never showed up. This has happened several times with him after he installed our fence and I'm tired of trying to hunt him down. He needs an office manager.

Horrible. I called twice & left voicemails requesting a call back to schedule an appointment to obtain an estimate to replace about 100 feet of fence & the contractor couldn't even have the decency to return my calls to schedule an appointment or at the very least inform me if they are not available. What's worse is that this is my experience from using Angie's list. I thought Angie's list was suppose to make this experience easier for the homeowner. This is not the 1st time this has occurred using Angie's list. This service is honestly a waste of money. I'm not the type of person to take the time to post comments, so given the fact that this is my 1st time ever doing this should convey my utter dissatisfaction with Lamorinda Fence Co  & Angie's list!!!!! Don't waste your time calling this business or using Angie's list.

Jim and his crew did a great job on the fence and were very helpful in figuring out how to configure the fence. Easy to work with. I recommend this company.

So far all I Jim has done is give us an estimate but I felt compelled to write given the 2 bad reviews posted about lack of responsiveness.  Jim returned the call the same day I left the message and was out within 24 hours to do the estimate.  I think I received the written estimate within 72 hours.  Compare this to A&J fencing who couldn't come out for nearly 3 weeks to do the actual estimate after I called.  I got the estimate 5 days later but then it took 3 emails to get a response to questions I had regarding the estimate.  And compare this to C&J who couldn't schedule our estimate for 4 weeks after I called, then called me 20 minutes after they were scheduled to arrive to cancel the appointment for the estimate.  I had taken the day off work and the receptionist couldn't even explain why they canceled.  They came out 1 week later (mid-May) and it is now nearly the end of June and even after 3 calls and an email I still have not received the estimate (however I consider this a blessing in disguise after I read their reviews on yelp).
I am still trying to find at least once fence contractor to give us another estimate and if we end up going with Lamorinda Fence I wlil update this review.

Jim Makrakis is absolutely superb at his craft. During our first meeting he listened, understood what I wanted and made valuable suggestions. Once contracted, he was onsite during the entire job. He had two helpers actually doing the work and their workmanship was excellent. I was particularly impressed when I simply asked him to replace a fencepost which served as the hinge post for the side yard gate. He not only replaced a wobbly old 4X4 with a beefy pressure-treated 6X6 that will withstand the next ice age, he replaced the hinges, tuned up the gate, resized the adjacent fence panel (because the 6X6 took up more space) and even added a flashing to the side of the house where the fence meets. To my perception he went beyond what was expected.
His prices are competitive, he showed up when expected and worked quickly. Besides all this, he?s a nice guy. I enthusiastically endorse Lamorinda Fence Co.

I sent them an email regarding my interest in setting up an appt for an estimate, and never heard back. I see another review saying the same thing, so I wouldn't waste my time attempting to contact them if I were someone else looking to get my fence fixed in a timely manner.

Completely unacceptable performance. Contacted provider for an estimate on 9/2/2014. As of 09/08/2014, the contract has not had the courtesy of contacting me.

Jim was prompt, professional, was a good communicator, and his crew did great work and left our yard clean and neat. We are very pleased!

I'm a happy camper. Jim was responsive and cooperative. His team was professional and cleaned up after themselves.

his quote was half the rest of the prices we were quoted and he was able to squeeze us in quickly (we have and escape artist dog and 2 door opening toddlers, also we just moved here and live near the highway so the dogs escaping is a scary issue). He worked hard with one other guy and went above and beyond to add things (like securing the side boards on an existing fence when he noticed the boards were loose)
he was also the only one able to schedule the job before december (he came in and did the work before over half of the other companies were willing to come out and quote it)

They just never got back to me on a bid.

I called Jim and he was able to give me an estimate the next day. The work was scheduled for the following week. The crew did a great job. They were timely and they took great care in cleaning up the work area.
