Came out and took measurements and pictures but never called back or returned my call.

We are totally satisfied with J Ward General Contractors work. Everything done is quality work. Those who see the finished product can't believe that the newly renovated living space used to be an almost useless sloping dirt basement. Joseph is very timely and manages multiple projects well. It was excellent working directly with Joseph. He knows his stuff and employs a totally competent and respectful staff. Provided insightful feedback in the design process and those occurrences where original plans had to be changed. We would recommend JWard to anyone looking for a general contractor for renovation or "new construction" work.

Excellent. Top notch work and communication. They kept the place clean. The agreed upon timing was achieved. All inspections past. Highly recommend Joe and his team.

I needed new wooden doors, for my tool shed. I obtained Mr. Ward's name, business address and telephone number from Angie's list. Mr. Ward came out to the house and made careful measurements, of the tool shed. He then stated he thought the construction job would cost about $1,000 to $1,200 to do. I said fine, please send a written bid, to me. I stated the bid could be sent via snail mail or e-mail. To this day, I have not received a bid from Mr. Ward. I even sent an e-mail to him, but he has not sent a response. Fortunately, I found two excellent carpenters who did the work. They put in solid oak doors, with door handles and interior shelving for just $800. In a way, I am very glad Mr. Ward gave me the cold shoulder. I saved at least $200 to $400 and I got a first rate job done, by two of his competitors. Sincerely, Porter L. Baymon

Joe and his crew are great. They are professional, do great work. I was so happy with the quality of the bath remodel, that I asked them to do my kitchen. Both were done nearly flawlessly without hassles, change orders, or delays.

His work was great but the problem was I should have research him further. He called me for the things that I needed to be done. He took a whole day just for one siding out and that was like 800$ a day so I thought it was ridiculous. He did a good work but I felt like I got cheated because I don't think he will take a whole day to take off a piece of lumber against the wall to put a new board and hammer it. He double charged me for my two toilets because when I got a research on home depot, I found out that it was just half the price. I had crack and he fixed it pretty good but I just told him to mold it and he said that we need to put a new pave over it. He also took another whole day to do the job. It was kind of expensive for me. I felt so naive thinking why the job took so long. I felt like I was taken advantage but he did a good work.

Joseph Ward came in to view the project, gave me an estimate and time when job could be completed. A few days later, at the time we had agreed upon, two of his workers came in to rehang the sliding door and door trim. They worked quickly and neatly. They were very courteous and respectful. The door was hung perfectly; it did not stick any more.

Most of the exterior dry rot damage found was of no consequence and did not need to be addressed at all. Joe even crawled under my home to look at supposed dry rot under the bathroom and found nothing. The original pest inspector had worried me by stating that, if the rot could not be tackled from underneath, they'd have to pull my bathroom apart. Joseph Ward assured me that nothing needed to be done. He showed a lot of integrity and honesty, and although he did not perform any work for me, I'll certainly keep him in mind for future projects and recommend him to others.

I didn't pick them. There is nothing I dislike. They are very professional, they did their job. I would use them again in the future if the prices were lower.

Joseph Ward General Contractors' price was a bit high. Other than that it was a very good experience. They were very professional and very knowledgeable. I may consider them for future work.

They didn't get back to me after they said that they would give me a quote. They didn't follow up at all. I would not get back to them or use them again.

He was excellent. He was on time, he was very professional, and he knows how to get the job done.

The work went really well. The work crew consisted of two or three people. They were very courteous, very efficient, very clean, and very professional. They cleaned up after themselves. They were very reasonably priced too. If I have more work to do I would definitely give them a call.

I have nothing but the highest praise for Joseph Ward Contractors. He and his entire crew were totally professional, careful, highly skilled and reliable while working our house. They began and finished the job on schedule, despite a very rainy month. Their work was expertly completed, down to matching door, window and crown trim pieces for a nearly 30 year old custom home in Orinda. The crew was talented and congenial and left the job site clean and tidy every day. I plan on using Joe for other projects at our home because he is at once honest, responsive and highly professional. I recommend his services without reservations.

It took him about six hours to complete the work. The experience was fine. The crew came in and they were very neat, clean and they put plastic around everywhere so the floors and walls would not get dusty. They were very thorough. The price seemed to be fair. When they left I could not even tell they had been there besides the fact that I had a new door. I am thinking of having them put in a solarium. I am thinking of calling him first to see if he can do it.
