We had the Costco HVAC company come and do an estimate. The person came to the house did no measurements and gave us a price. I looked up later on the internet the equipment in the quote and the person had chosen a vertical furnace and we needed a horizontal one. Green Air was professional and seemed to know what they were doing. Green Air met the Costco price excluding all the Costco members perks.
The installation was very smooth for us and took one day. The two people were very professional even though they ran into some things that they did not expect. The installation team stayed until they finished and the install took one extra long day.
We are happy about the equipment and its operation.
We asked about permits after the installation was done because we assumed that if they were required that the company would either advise us or would take care of it. We had heard that permits might be required for the installation. We checked with the city and the city confirmed that they were required. Green Air eventually agreed to do the duct testing and the permits.
The original installation was August 30, 2011. On September 9, 2011, Green Air agreed to get the permits and do the Duct Testing. We had to follow up several times before a duct test was performed on November 14, 2011. The duct test passed. We had to again follow up several times until the permit was issued.
