I was able to bring in my computer the same day I called for service. After I explained the problem I was having, the computer tech quickly diagnosed the problem. I left the computer there, and within a couple of days, I got a call the job was done. ITunes is now working, and my music of over 6,000 songs has been restored!!
My three year old Lenovo laptop, just out of warranty, gave signs of a failing hard drive. I bought a new drive, installed it myself, but couldn't get the Lenovo recovery process to work because Lenovo expects its own recovery tools to already be present on a hidden partition. I called Eric's (based on Yelp reviews!) in a panic, because I can't perform billable work without this machine. The technician I spoke with, named Dave, said they were pretty booked up but if I brought the drives in, they could image the new one from the old over night. He thought it quite likely to work even after I told him what diagnostic error showed up on the old drive.
I expected them to image the new drive, and give the two of them back to me. Instead, they insisted on being sure everything worked, and discovered that Windows 7 wouldn't shut down afterward (once the new drive was in). As tense as I was, they recommended leaving the system with them for debugging. They did that (fitting me in though they were booked) and resolved mapping problems that they found. I had my machine back, with all data in place and working fine. This extra work was done without an extra charge -- I paid only what they quoted me for the imaging.
Eric's was absolutely committed to the system being right before it left the shop, even though I had only requested a specific task. I am very pleased and grateful.
