I installed a brand new Bay Alarm system that required not one, not two, but SEVEN tech visits in the first year. Even the technicians thought this was outrageous, and one of them urged me to escalate my complaint and ask for a one year extension on the warranty. No dice. Apparently the company won't stand by their product no matter how deficient it is -- or how expensive. Bay Alarm is pricey, but I figured I would get what I paid for. No such luck. Buyer beware.

The Bay Alarm Company has provided me great service for years and their personnel, e.g., Michael Hilway, are top notch. No need to read the following long paragraph unless you want to understand why I make that statement. I had an alarm system installed at my residence by the San Diego Alarm Company (SDA) in November of 1996. SDA was eventually bought out by the Bay Alarm Company in May, 2014. SDA and Bay Alarm provided a seamless transition from the SDA alarm monitoring center in San Diego to the Bay Alarm monitoring center in Northern California. Bay Alarm upgraded my alarm system in November 2017 and has continuously provided courteous and professional service. Bay Alarm recently notified me that Verizon and AT&T would be discontinuing their 3G service and that I would need to upgrade my alarm panel cellular communicator. They offered me several reasonable upgrade options. I figured it might be about time to consider getting a new alarm system and requested ADT provide me with a proposal. I carefully performed an analysis of the pros and cons of the new ADT system as compared to staying with Bay Alarm. I decided to stay with Bay Alarm for multiple reasons. I contacted Bay Alarm and requested they upgrade my alarm panel cellular communicator and it was upgraded on May 24, 2021. A few days later my alarm system had problems communicating with the Bay Alarm monitoring center. I called Bay Alarm and they quickly arranged to have a lead technician come to my residence at my convenience to troubleshoot the problem and repair it. The service technician was Michael Hilway and he was able to quickly identify the problem and resolve the issue. The problem turned out that a Verizon 4G LTE Network Extender I was using was causing the problem. I disconnected the device and I have not had a communications problem with the Bay Alarm communications center since that time. Michael noticed the Verizon cellular signal was marginal and remotely monitored the signal over the following week to ensure I would not have a communications problem. I am a retired electronics engineer and I was impressed with the technical expertise of Michael Hilway, his thoroughness, and his professionalism. Michael Hilway is an asset to the Bay Alarm Company and I am glad I kept Bay Alarm as my remote alarm monitoring company because of personnel like Michael. I recommend the Bay Alarm Company to anybody considering installing an alarm system with remote monitoring.

We decided to upgrade our Bay Alarm security system to communicate by cell network instead of land line. Joshua Vie, the local sales rep was very professional and did a great job explaining what needed to be done and the costs involved. We had two techs who worked on the installation of the upgraded panel, Isaiah and Francisco. They were both knowledgeable and did a great job with the installation and checkout. We have been with Bay Alarm for many years and highly recommend them.

Great customer service, Graham who did the initial inspection and write up was beyond helpful. The install also went off with out a hitch. I am happy with the system and is working much better then the system they replaced.

Install was done very neatly.  Afterwards they did a complete walkthrough of the system including the online app for phone and computer.

We decided to go with a private company as Bay Alarm could not offer monitoring. Price necessitated an ongoing monthly fee that made the system more expensive over time

I've had Bay Alarm in my home for over 5 years.  I've never had a complaint or a problem with my service.  I originally compared several alarm companies and Bay Alarm came out on top in all areas: cost, responsiveness, professionalism, equipment, and ease of use.
Since installation, I've asked Bay Alarm to come out and make modifications/upgrades and I've always been treated with respect and have never had an unpleasant experience.  They are easy to work with over the phone, appointment scheduling is a breeze, they are prompt to appointments, and are extremely professional when in my home.  They've always gone over and above in their service.

I bought it online and then I talked to the guys and I was comparing them with some companies. I did a little bit of a comparison but not much. I got this recommendation from a real miser and I thought, well if you recommended it, I'll give it a try. It's been reasonably priced. They break it down in their website what you're paying for that and I had to call them back because they used the basic land line that you already have but I changed over to the Verizon Fios System and these guys don't work with fiber optics. They didn't even think to ask that up front but it was an important glitch. They don't work with fiber optics so they had to come back in and change out the equipment so that it would be cellular technology and I had to pay again for that. The $99 is their basic install but I think asking about or knowing whether you need the company to be compatible with fiber optics would be something important to do up front and I don't know if the other alarm systems are or are not but Bay is not. That would be an important thing to ask if I had known that. They did that in the first door, what they have to change is the equipment that is tied to my phone and they had to do some install down in the basement. One time, I accidentally pushed the button the wrong way and the alarm went off and they called me right away and I told them it was a mistake and I had to run to some codes otherwise they would send out the police or the paramedics or something and so I did that and it wasn't a problem. If someone else did that like my sister or my daughter, I think they wouldn't have remembered the code and so they would just remind me that I would have to hide that code somewhere because they will call and if you can't give them the code, they would have someone sent over. I couldn't remember the code, I started to give every code I knew and I don't know which was the right one, she just said that's it, that's the one. The alarm worked, it went off and she called right away to make sure that it is what I needed. And I said what happen if I didn't answer the phone, she said they would have sent out the police. The communication upfront about fiber optics would have been useful because if they told me they didn't use fiber optics when I talked to the Fios lady, I might not have gotten the Fios, I wouldn't have the phone set up. But their professionalism, their communication and all that was fine.

They are a local company so when you have an activated alarm you are all under one umbrella. They are a family run company. They are a little pricey but competitive.

We have had them for a long time, probably 4 years.  They are all around town here.  They charged me a service call.  I don't remember how much they charged but it was $100.00 or something.  The device was shorting out so the alarm would go off at 2 or 3 in the morning.  It would go off on its own.  We would usually be in bed by then.  We would be up and totally disconcerted thinking there was an intruder in the house or someone trying to get in and running around like headless chickens for about 10 minutes and then the phone call would from them.  A couple of years they called my wife and asked her the password at 4 a.m.  The installation resulted in this thing going off on its own so I wasn't really thrilled about this.  I guess it was outside the warranty period so it was up to me to pay for the repair which we did because it was something that needed to be done.  They were going to charge me so much for the repair and if they had to do anything it was going to be so much more.  When the guy came out to look at it, he told me that he was just going to charge me for one thing and not for everything.  As far as the repairman went, he was a decent guy.  They are not the most fantastic people I have worked with, but they are decent.  I think they are a little high on pricing but I don't know what all they have to do.  I had to pay a guy to come out and fix it.  The quality was average.  They were charging me to come out and fix something that should have been put in right the first time.  They are very good on responsiveness and punctuality.  Their service rep was a really nice guy.  I would continue to use them in the future just because there are not a lot of choices out here.

I travel frequently and wanted to install a security and fire alarm system with central station monitoring. I contacted Bay Alarm through their toll free sales number and they arranged for a representative to come to my nome at MY convenience. The representative was punctual and professional, assessed my needs and provided a number of options. I selected the one I felt best suited my needs. We did a walk-through of the home to identify and confirm what I asked for. We made a date for the installation (also scheduled for my convenience). The installer arrived on time and took precautions to not track dirt into the house. We walked through the installation again. The installer reviewed and cleared all details with me and began the installation. He completed the work three hours ahead of schedule. He reviewed everything with me and taught me how the alarm system worked before he left. I have been using Bay Alarm since mid-November and am very pleased with the service. They are also very responsive if you call their service department with a question. I highly recommend the, They are a family-owned, local company and I feel because of that, they offer a better level of service.

I have very limited experience with Bay Alarm. I have never had any problems with them and we have not had much contact. We have not had any problems with system or their service and we will continue to use them in the future. The installation process went very smooth and they did what they said they were going to do.

We inherited this company three to four years ago. Luckily, we have had very little interaction with them. When a motion sensor went off, they were quick to call us back.

I haven't had a problem with the alarm since I have had it. They have direct billing and auto pay which makes it nice not to have to worry about a bill each month. If I call into customer service, they are always nice in answering any question I might have.

Very responsive and professional. We had to install a pretty complex system given the layout of our house. We interviewed many companies, most just gave up. Bay Alarm researched and came up with a solution for us. Have been very responsive. We love our alarm system and would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone else.
