Multiple repairs the same zones. Multiple false alarms. Promises that were made that were never kept. The person on the phone that I spoke to explaining they make the alarm exclude the pet but still have motion detectors enforced.  Told otherwise during a tech support. That was a lie. They overcharged me. Lied to me multiple times about motion detectors, bracelets, all the repairs and fees, etc.

A year after I started paying for the service, I found out I hadn?t been receiving the service that I had paid for. I was having problems with my ADT service, and the ADT serviceman who was sent out told me that I hadn?t been getting service since Jan 2010. He was very arrogant and abusive about it. This serviceperson told me to call Nabeel Totah, who was a supervisor. He called me back on the third call. The supervisor asked what I wanted even though he had been informed of the problem. I said I thought I should get a refund since I wasn?t getting the monitoring service I?d paid for. Supervisor asked if I?d read contract (I hadn't, but who does?), and I was told that I wouldn?t get refund because of a clause in the contract. I should have been told by previous technicians that I wasn?t getting this service for a year?s time.

They came out and went over the plan, the costs, and the different options. It was really nice. They walked around the house and looked at all the places where they could install the alarm system. They weren?t high pressured and were really reasonably priced. I was happy with them. They send people out in a heartbeat. When they installed it they walked us through to make sure that we knew how to set the alarm, turn it off, and all the options in the alarm system. If I am home alone I can set the alarm, and if an intruder comes in the alarm would go off.

They have done a pretty good job responding to our concerns. We bought an extended warranty on the system. They came and installed a new battery for it recently. We didn?t pay anything for the battery and we paid about $50 for the service call which seemed okay.

On 10/16, Abi Muthu, the salesperson, came to our house to discuss the job. She said that we would get 3 free hours on labor and the cost of the cell phone module and smoke detector were reasonable so we agreed to go with them(I even canceled two other appts. for quotes with other companies). She arranged the install for 10/25 between 9-12 am. On 10/23, I received call from ADT dispatch saying that the install would be on 10/24 between 12-2. Even though the day and time were different, I agreed. On 10/24, the installer, Robert, arrived and so there would be no free hours of labor. We both tried to call Abi with no luck. He left our house. On 10/24, Abi called and I explained what had happened about not getting any free labor time as she had promised. She said she would check with her manager and see what could be done. She said she would call me back by 10/27. 10/29, I had to call Abi since I hadn't received a callback from her. She said she would talk to her manager about what could be done. I asked that they simply honor the agreement. She said she would call back by noon and come to the house with a written agreement between 5:30 and 7pm that evening. 10/29, Abi called at 12:22 and said they would honor the 3 hours of free labor and she would bring the paperwork by the house at 5:45pm. 10/29, Abi arrived at house at 6:25(40 minutes late)with paperwork for 3 free hours and would give us a certificate for 2 months free monitoring at the completion of the job. 10/23, ADT dispatcher called with install window on 11/1 from 12-2. 11/1, Tony was suppose to do the install but didn't have the smoke detector and didn't arrive by the end of the window. 11/3, Abi called to say Robert would do the install and would have a smoke detector. 11/7, Corey arrived at 9:30am and said the job couldn't be done the way it I wanted it in spite of what Abi had said. I canceled the job. I am very dissatisfied with ADT and will not be using them nor recommending them to anyone else.

The entire ADT office seems to be a mess. The estimator lost the paperwork for the contract and then failed to fill it out correctly another time. After the technician arrived and left without doing the installation, I called the estimator (who was my only contact), but he seemed powerless to do anything. It had taken a long time for him to communicate with the dispatcher for the technicians, and it seemed they were always busy. When I called back to try to reschedule, they could not guarantee that they could ever send out more than one technician, but maybe one could come in 6 weeks. I asked to speak to the office manager to see if something could be done about the situation to guarantee that the installation could be done in a timely fashion, but the manager was defensive and unhelpful. He said that if I wasn't happy with their installation schedule, I should take my business elsewhere. So I did.

Excellent sales rep Michael Valenzuela. Problem with installation. Installer arrived at 12:30 p.m. r/t 8:00 a.m. Took 7-1/2 hrs. to install. System did not work. Called 800 number. Very poor customer service. Set us up with appt. for ''service'' for next day noon-5p.m. They did not show up. Turned out they cancelled it and gave it back to installers but did not notify us. Installer came the following day but did not fix system. Finally got sr. installer, Art, and he fixed the system. Even satellite phone back-up system was not working before. Only 2-yr. contract required, can cancel within 6 mos. (See Bay Alarm for their contracts). Once installed correctly, seems to be working very well. Ask for Sr. Installer and ask your Sales Rep to be there on the day of a scheduled install. Have all systems checked and double-checked to be sure they're working properly after installation.

THE TECHNICIAN HAD EVERYTHING SET UP QUICKLY. THE ALARM BOXES ARE NOT EYESORES, AND THE WIRELESS CONTROL MEANS NO UNSIGHTLY WIRES AROUND THE HOUSE. WE PAY THEM FOR THEIR MONTHLY SERVICE, AND THEY COME OUT ANYTIME WE NEED THEM.

ADT WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL AND EAGER TO HELP. AFTER INSTALLATION THEY MADE SURE I KNEW HOW TO WORK THE ALARM. THEY WERE VERY HELPFUL. THE NEXT DAY A CUSTOMER REP CALLED TO BE SURE THINGS WERE STILL GOING GOOD. I AM VERY HAPPY WITH MY DECISION TO GO WITH ADT.
