A and J Fencing

Sorry been a while since service, work was done well finished on time.

They were good, we got what we needed.

A&J marked the posts they identified as requiring support and performed as scheduled. Unfortunately, the fence was still leaning heavily in many spots because they did not identify/repair enough posts (notice in the photo only the two sister-ed posts at far right, but remainder of fence still leaning). They acknowledged this, but couldn't schedule a follow up for several months. We ended up hiring a second contractor to finish the job right.

It went well, on time, cleaned up afterwards.

Excellent, they were on time for both days, answered my questions and requests. Foreman came onsite to check in on progress daily. My calls to the office were handled professionally they are all very knowledgabe, and a pleasure to work with.

My husband was there watching them working. He was very pleased. They did a fine job. They arrived on time. It took a little extra time for them. Instead of one day, it took two days. My husband got a long time with them and there wasn't any problem. The fence turned out fine. My husband got a quote. They did exactly what they said. We never had a problem with him trying to add extra money or anything else to it. We paid exactly what they quoted us. That was very good.

Like a charm. A and J sent a crew of three plus a foreman who came by regularly; they took out the old fence in a matter of hours and had most of the new fence holes dug by the end of the first day. By the end of the second day they'd set all of the posts and the top and bottom rails, plus they completed almost half of the board-on-board as well as some of the kickboards. They finished the project ahead of schedule by early afternoon on the third day. There were no hiccups, no significant damage to plants (yes, a bush or two got kind of stepped on, but not fatally) and none to trees, and they responded promptly to the concerns of one neighbor. Their cleanup was excellent, and they did a little extra sweeping at my request on the neighbor's brick walk. A and J offers to send invoices to the neighbors if desired (presuming prior agreement with the neighbors), but we did not ask for that service.

beforestead of The quality of the materials used was excellent but the quality of their work was not as high as the price led us to expect.
To stabilize the fence posts, they piled concrete around the base of the posts. This concrete should have been around the base of the posts no higher than ground level.  Large staples fired into the front came out the back.  Some stones removed to put in fence were strewn about and left there. Concrete stepping stones covering a drain were removed and not replaced (one broken).  Scraps of wood and small pieces of paper and wrapping plastic were left on the ground.  Valuable tools, which would have been found if a better clean-up job had been done, were left on the ground when they left.
The crew (3 men) had limited English and arrived without the foreman so there was difficult communication. Should have at least knocked on the door before walking around the property.

A friend recommended them.  I share it with a neighbor.  It was excellent.  They were very friendly and neat.  They were relatively quiet.

They met with me to be sure they had the concept right.  When a detail required a change they went over it with me before doing the work.  They finished on time.  Very easy to work with.

We called in a rush to get this done by our daughters birthday however they said they did not have any available time to do this for 7 weeks. When we expained the importance of the date and that we would put ourselves on the cancel list for an earlier date. They kindly did this and we were very impressed they were there the next week. They arrived promptly at 8 as scheduled. The employees got to work right away. They worked quickly and the foreman came and updated me several times. They cleaned up after themselves and were respectful of my neighbors. The 100 foot fence was finished in the quoted 5 hours and by 2 pm they were cleaning/packing up. Our fence looks great and we are very happy with the product and service. Scott was the service representative that came out and gave us our quote. He was very nice and professional. I would definitely recommend A & J Fencing to friends!

the workers showed up promptly at the time of the appointment and started to work right away. they were courteous and answer all my questions and concerns i had. they did a great job and cleaned up before leaving. Very pleased!

They were in very high demand due to all the storm damage in the area so it took about five weeks before they could get around to my job.  It was definitely worth the wait.  They arrived promptly and did the whole fence tear down and rebuild in only one day.  The gate was very sturdy and the fence was well made.  The crew chief checked in with me several times to explain what was happening and make sure I was happy with the construction.  They cleaned up completely and left nothing behind except a great fence.

My half of the cost was $800. The service went very well and it took them one day to complete the work. I would highly recommend them.

I would not go with A and J Fencing again.  Although they may well have a better supervisor and better workers at the current time, our 2006 fence work was horrible.  Our next-door neighbor contracted with them and we agreed to pay half the cost of our mutual section of fence.  Many problems on our section.  The fence posts were not sunk in a straight line so the fence was crooked from the beginning.  The fence boards started popping out early on.  The concrete in the post holes was not built up and sloped down, so water gathered at the base of the posts and now, only 8 years later, the posts are rotted, the fence is leaning and about to fall over, and needs to be replaced again.  The company was not responsive to our complaints.  They came back once and installed leaning boards on our side to supposedly straighten the fence and we left them up for weeks, but this was aestheically unacceptable and did not solve the problem.  During the job they walked all over plants near the fence and killed them.  They left debris on our property.  The workers did not speak English and they were not supervised during the job.  Very , very shoddy work.
