A full slab of granite was to be split between two separate jobs. The first job went fine. Pacific Stone Designs (PSD) sent out their representative to measure for the second job. I was told fabrication typically takes 7-10 business days. After not hearing anything from PSD on the 10th business day, I took it upon myself to call and inquire about the status of the job. It was at this point I was finally informed the slab of granite had been destroyed while moving it. If I had not called, how much longer would it have taken PSD to inform me they had destroyed our granite? I arranged to meet with PSD at their location where they offered two different remnant pieces of similar granite to complete the job. PSD offered to have letters of the family name cut out of the granite and to also apply a higher quality sealant to the granite. It took another 5 business days to fabricate and deliver the granite for installation. The countertops came out fine; however, the letters did not. A portion of one of the letters had broken off. I confronted PSD about why they failed to deliver what they had promised. It was at this point that PSD took on a very different tone of dealing with me. PSD tried to deny any responsibility for destroying the granite we had purchased or the broken family letters, stating that "accidents" happen. PSD also did not apply the higher quality sealant to the granite as had been promised, stating that this would void the warranty offered by the supplier of the granite. Why would PSD's own production manager offer to apply this sealant knowing it would void the warranty unless he never had any intention of applying it and only offered to do so as a way to try and appease me and send me on my way? I finally received the family letters cut out of quartz instead of granite after another week delay. There was no offer of any kind of compensation for the loss of our original granite or the added delay in delivery. I found dealing with PSD to be completely unprofessional. Any company that lies to you, misleads you, and denies responsibility for their own actions is not a company that is worth dealing with. I would never do business with PSD again.

Terrible Experience I had to ask them to leave my Home. not exaggerating.
Response from Pacific Stone designs
"Unfortunately the customer was dissatisfied with having a seam on this project. The seam itself was very good and the customer’s contractor and Home Depot agreed with this assessment. Ultimately we replaced the top without a seam to have a satisfied customer. The replacement was performed in May after the customer wrote this review. Pacific Stone Designs takes all customer satisfaction issues seriously and we stand behind the work that we perform. As was done in this case, although the job was well within the standards, we replaced the section of the top to satisfy the customer"

I purchased the countertop through Home Depot; I had no idea who the contractor was going to be. Perhaps the best way to describe my experience was that it was uneventful. After my purchase at Home Depot, the job was handed to Pacific Stone Design. I had only a couple interactions with the company. I scheduled the measure, they showed up on time and quickly measured the space. I scheduled the install and they showed up on time and efficiently installed the countertop. After the installation, the company seemed very concerned about following up; they requested that I fill out a questionnaire regarding the product and the installation. The job was handled efficiently and professionally.

I have no complaint with the workmanship performed on the project. My new countertop is beautiful and looks better than I imagined. Paperwork and the administrative set-up of the project was troublesome, however, largely due to the PSD front office's lack of communication with the Home Depot store, through whom I originally engaged them. Scheduling also proved problematic, with one mid-week cancellation after I had arranged to take the day off from work. (They did make up for it by coming on a Sunday afternoon to do the job.) My advice to potential customers is: Stay on top of the front office folks, call them often and let them know you're expecting them to come through as promised, and be prepared for at least four separate appointments to do the job (measuring, demolition/final measuring, leveling, and installation). All of mine took place over 15 days from start to finish.

THEY CAME ON TIME, AND OUR STUFF CAME IN BEFORE THE TIME THEY SAID. IT WAS IMPORTANT BECAUSE WE DID THIS OVER THE HOLIDAYS, AND DID NOT HAVE A SINK OR STOVE SO IT WAS VERY HARD TO COOK.
