G T Sew & Vac

We dropped off our Dyson vacuum to have the cord replaced. We were VERY specific that the cord was to be replaced with one that was of the same length. We were told that they would call us when the repair was complete. I called them a week after dropping the vacuum off, to see if it was ready for pick up. We were told it was. They did NOT call to tell us that the vacuum was ready for pick up, as stated. When we went to pick the vacuum up, it was evident that the cord was MUCH shorter that the original, and it was pointed out to them that it was not repaired as instructed. The man waiting on us, said that he could order a new one from Dyson, but there would be no guarentee that it would be any longer, and that we would have to pay for the labor to fix what he didn't do correctly in the first place. He would not release the vacuum without us paying the outrageous bill of $70.76! We believe that the man waiting on us was the owner. He was argumentative & unhelpful in rectifying the situation. He initially made no effort to ensure that he was replacing the cord with one that was of equal length, as SPECIFICALLY requested when we dropped the vacuum off. Had he been unable to replace with the same length cord, he should have called us to let us know that. When we got home, we called Dyson to see what the original length of the cord was. We were told that it was 37 feet. GT Sew & Vac replaced it with a cord that was a full 13 feet shorter than what we dropped off. We can not vacuum one room without unplugging and switching to another plug. We do NOT recommend this business that RUINED our Dyson vacuum.
