I hired a landscaper who used SynLawn as his subcontractor. This landscaper charged a $12,000 downpayment and shirked on all of his promises and charged for services not rendered. The few services that he did render were done incorrectly, of poor quality, and violated several regulations. Due to the fact that I had signed an arbitration agreement with the original contractor, I could not take him to court. The contractor requested of all of his subcontractors to submit a letter in his defense to the arbitrator. Blaine, from Synlawn, upon request from the contractor, fabricated a lie to protect him. He stated that his crew would have cut the drains down to the base once the installation of the lawn came to place. To the contrary, several of the drains were already cut down to base while others were not. Aside from the endless list of things that the contractor did incorrectly, he also completed the drains incorrectly. The contractor used Blaine's statement to justify charging me for incomplete and incorrect drains as well as incomplete, poor quality, and damaged irrigation. I would have no issue with Synlawn if he had not come to the contractor's defense. This contractor had committed fraud. He had been sued several times previously, including once by Ewing Irrigation, presumably for not paying his bills. Blaine defended his fraudulent actions of keeping the sum paid to him for work that he did not do, and some work that he did incorrectly thereby causing damages. Personally, I would never trust a contractor that gave up his integrity for a financially beneficial relationship.
