My 2001 Chevy Tahoe was starting to "have issues". I saw a commercial on TV for automotive work, and the owner of this business was a high school acquaintance. I actually graduated with this guys sister.
I took my vehicle to his place of business, and the owner was there. We had pleasant conversation, and caught up on old high school acquaintances. I remembered him being a nice guy; then and now.
There were many issues with my vehicle, and as these problems were diagnosed, I would receive a phone call and promptly go down to this business and talk with the technician. Each time, I was quite surprised by the money at which it took to repair the item. Each time, I would desire to talk with my high school acquaintance (Owner), but was unable to do so, because he was never there.
For the next few days, the problems were diagnosed and my visits to the auto shop continued. Every time, it was the same type of conversation, professional and "to the point". Most of these diagnosis' were higher in price than I had envisioned. Every time, I would venture into the office to see the owner, and he was never there.
The work performed, was to my satisfaction. The technicians appeared to be knowledgeable and competent. I think that I may have overpaid, but I have NO PROOF to substantiate that claim. Maybe, I was expecting to see the owner (high school acquaintance) more often, and I thought I would receive a discount. Maybe it's unfair for me to expect that from him.
Perhaps, I DID receive a discount from the owner, and his employees passed that on to me. I will say, that I like NIck and his sister. They are good people, and I think that they were honest when I grew up with them.
My experience has been a few years ago now, and maybe I've forgotten some important details of my experience. I do hope that Nick is still running an honest and professional endeavor, and I hope that your experience with him is pleasant.
