Our project went great!
Do not pursue your landscape dream without hiring 3D Design! My first thoughts were that my husband and I could design our own landscape & pavilion and/or use the pool contractor's design. Luckily before we moved forward we heard about David through a well known general contractor in the area. We knew a few things, It had to fulfill our needs and wants, it had to be done right and of course we wanted it to add value to our home. Well, we hired David. He listened to everything we wanted right down to the most people we would be entertaining. He assured us that after the first 3D design, he would keep working until we were 100 percent satisfied. Can you believe that David nailed it on the first try! His design was beautiful and so functional, something we could of never imagined. We took his design, passed it on to our contractors and before we knew it our back yard matched right up with David's original design. I think our contractors appreciated David as much as we did. No misdesigns, no job delays, no "I didn't know it would look like that". Our new backyard is everything we imagined and more! One of the best investments we've ever made! Thank you David!
UPDATE: We've enjoyed our pool now since early spring through summer and now fall, still no design regrets! I never imagined we would be out in the pavilion every evening enjoying TV, movies and entertaining on the weekends. The kids are coming home all the time now! Haha! It has been more than what I ever expected!

Project went pretty much on schedule, David (3D)created graphics so we could see how the yard would look. The end result was what we saw in the designs he created. 3D has contractors that he recommends to finish the job as created and timely. He works with your ideas and your pocketbook.
Do's
1. Use 3D Design, he is really good about being available and keeping the project going.
2. Use the contractors he recommends and he usually works with. The only problem contractor was the one who built the patio coverings, the end result was wonderful but he had problems following the plan 3D provided.
3. Be involved in the process, actually you won't have a choice for this one. 3D and the contractors will give you suggestions for colors, sizes, minor changes and additions. But you will have the final decision.
Don'ts
1. As far as 3D's part in the process I cannot think of anything negative to say.
2. And if you worked with contractors before you know they kind of work on their own schedule, these were pretty good as to getting the job done and being responsive.
This is an investment in my property, and I feel that David did such a great and detailed job, that in the end he will probably save me more money (and time!) than what his services cost versus if I had gone with a lower quality 3-D landscape architect. Anyone who's hired and an architect could probably tell you that bad plans will cost you a lot more in the end because of the extra time and money spent on unanticipated changes needed to be made by the contractor.

I'm meeting contractors for Electrical upgrades additions and Heat and Air to improve the comfort, Solar system to save on power costs, Lighting for everything, help in seeing what to do inside and out regarding security and walkways, drive areas and the landscape areas.
