Built To Specs

Working with this company and with Marko Karkoc was nothing short of a nightmare. He did not finish the job. The contract stated that the job would be completed July 31, 2013. It is now November 2013, 5 months have passed and it is still not completed. Some of the workmanship was good, other parts were very sloppy. He put in decent trim work, then hired someone who wasn't a painter to paint it and it looks horrible. He covered two floor vents with wood flooring, so they are just there, under the house, covered in wood. The trim in the kitchen is half done, The vent hood is half installed. Many of the can lights are missing or hanging from the ceiling. The hall lights work intermittently, I can't use any of the outlets in my bathroom. I had a tile layout for my kitchen backsplash and Marko and his tile guy thought they liked another design better and installed the tile wrong. I could go on and on. Communication with Built to Specs was very frustrating. He would leave the job for days on end without an explanation. I found out later he was leaving to do other jobs and that is why he was missing in action. I have been left with all sorts of jobs that are half completed and now will have to spend thousands of dollars to have someone else complete the work. Now all his tools are strewn about my yard and in my garage and he won't pick them up. He left a dumpster of garbage on my dirveway and I have no idea when he will come and get his things. This is my first Angie's List review and I am writing it to protect anyone else from the h*** that I have been through.
