Accent Sprinkler Repair

It took weeks to schedule a sprinkler repair with Rick rescheduling multiple times. Very little concern for my problem and appeared to be put out by my needs. When he finally arrived, he did not listen to my requests, interrupted me often, and declined to wear a mask, stating he did not believe in the severity of COVID. Since he was there, I had him make some minor repairs. Quite expensive and billed me for 1 1/2 hours when, in fact, he was only there less than an hour. I strongly do not recommend his services.

Called several places to fix a 3/4" pvc pipe that had burst outdoors. Called plumbers and a couple landscape places before calling Accent, and most other places were charging much more for same work. Accent gave best price and also was available sooner , so I went with them. They were friendly, courteous and within two hours had completed all the work. No leaks since and controller works perfectly. Would hire again with no reservations.

Rick arrived right on time and was able to quickly determine what the problem was. He fixed the issues and also took extra steps to correct problems with the original installation.

Rick came over with his right hand, John to go over existing irrigation system in place , which is a combination of drip and spray.  Ended up charging for 2 1/2  days of labor and parts when John actually just fixed and replaced a few broken sprinkler valves. We now have to hire another group to check each zone to fix each drip system.   Rick charges standard $75-$85/hr. labor to have John do the work by himself.

We had Rick out to repair a broken sprinkler head, and examine the entire system.  He was able to quickly and completely make all repairs and identify areas we has not noticed.  He came with all the needed equipment and was able to fix everything within the single service call.  He is friendly and is willing to take the time to explain they why/what.

I would state that overall professionalism and promptness was great. Showed up as stated and rating on these behaviors are 'a' The concern with this company is we made the appointment as we had a $350 water bill and the backyard was suddenly saturated with water and wet so obviously with zero rain all year; there was an irrigation leak. Came out and troubleshot to find the problem but didn't resolve. He replaced a few sprinkler heads that were nowhere adjacent to the soggy ground and as a minor irritation; didn't adjust so then when irrigation was on they no longer sprayed the grass but went on concrete. (small thing and can easily be fixed but still a notation). I was working 16 hour days out of state so asked my wife to resolve. He absolutely REFUSED to deal with my wife. Multiple phone calls to me which I intentionally did not return. Each time; I asked my wife to do so. (our choice as a customer on how we would like to respond) He then took the initiative to come back to our property to check to see if the ground was dry. It was not and nothing was resolved. We just received the bill again and it was $390; wet backyard and no resolution. I turned off the water main to the irrigation and within days the yard was dry. THERE IS A LEAK. 100%. We received an invoice for $208.27. Again; my wife called to discuss a resolution only to get a speech of the 30 years he has been doing this; he has never had someone to NOT return his calls and stated he would not adjust the bill unless he spoke with me and asked for me to call him. I get it; a MAN should deal with his responsibilities; however our situation is I'm killing myself at work and am leaving at 4:30am and returning at 10pm at night and other nights I'm out of state. We have the legal right to deal with a repair company despite age, race or gender. It's absurd for any business to not respect a customer because they are female and to make statements to the customer that only the man of the family can resolve the issue. Tomorrow he stated he is coming to our property for full payment and wouldn't adjust without talking to me personally. I'm writing this review to state; this person is a very nice person based upon my 1 conversation with him; however skillset is the reason we called and to charge for multiple visits without resolving the issue equals poor skillset. No emotions attached to this. There IS still a leak in our backyard; the irrigation valve has been turned OFF by ME to temporarily resolve until I can find a competent person to repair . I respect you tried to fix it and should be compensated. I agree you changed a sprinkler valve but WE still have a leak and you lack the professionalism to deal with my wife. She called you back everytime you contacted me. Angie's list members find someone else if you want results at a fair price. Sorry for the honesty but felt it's important that other members know about this.

He does an excellent job.  His rates may appear to be higher than others; however he is very efficient and knows what he is doing.

Excellent service.  He came out and quickly diagnosed the problem on the same day I called.  He took the time to explain how to work every feature on the controller.  I couldn't have had a better experience and will use them again.

They identified the problems, changed a few valves, changed some sprinkler heads, fixed a broken sprinkler, fixed some drip lines and reprogrammed my sprinkler system. They started on the job right away, they came back when they said they would, worked quickly, knew what they were doing, got the job done and the price was fair!

Rick (proprietor) was fantastic!  We had a significant leak in the valve box of our landscape irrigation system.  Consequently, he scheduled us as a priority; quickly and efficiently diagnosed and repaired the problem; and subsequently rewired our valve control system in a fashion our gardeners said was impossible.
Rick lived up to commitments, and consistently exceeded my expectations.  He was fast, skilled, and reasonably priced.

In my younger years I have installed two sprinkler systems for my homes.  I always would joke that I would rather install an entire system than have to dig down and find and repair a leak in a system.  Last week I could see that I had a good sized leak in my front yard sprinkler system due to the large amount of runoff that was occuring in my flower bed. 
As I have gotten older I have developed arthritis in my hands and it becomes difficult to do a lot of jobs with my hands.  But I dug down and located the irrigation pipe where the water had bubbled up.  I could tell that a lot more digging was going to have to be done just to find the exact location of the leak.  It was time for some help.  I checked Angie's list and found Accent Sprinkler Repair and they had very good reviews and it was a company very close to my residence.  I called Rick White, the owner, and left a message for him to return my call which he did within a couple of hours.  This occured on Wednesday.  He told me that with the Memorial Day weekend coming up his crew was very busy trying to finish up some jobs before the weekend.  But he said he would try to come out the next day, Thursday, to check out the job and maybe they could tackle it on Friday.
Well, he came out on Thursday and had the entire job done in a little over a half hour.  It would have taken me hours to complete the job and that doesn't count the two or three trips to Ace Hardware that I would have had to make.  I stood and talked to him during the job and he explained how my leak happend and how he was going to fix it so it shouldn't happen again.  He was very friendly and professional and I am so happy that I have found someone who can help me with my sprinkler system whenever problems occur.

I have nothing but the highest praise for Rick and his crew.  Everything was done perfectly.  Over the weekend, one of my underground sprinkler lines started to leak, and a large part of my yard was flooded.  I called the owner Rick on Saturday, and he was able to set up an appointment the following Tuesday.  Once he arrived, he had me turn on the sprinklers while he crouched over and listened for the leak.  In less than a minute he had pinpointed the location of the leak.  Within just a few minutes, he and his helper had dug up enough dirt that the leak was clearly seen.  It was due to a root from my Mulberry tree and was substantial, thus explaining the major flooding.  He very quickly fixed the leak, using an array of PVC pipes and other parts to completely fix the leak.  The whole process took less than 30 minutes.  I was so glad that I had called him, because I have made similar repairs myself, and it usually takes me about 2 hours, working by myself, and not knowing what I was doing!
Rick is terrific in every way.  He is efficient, knows his stuff, quick, reasonable, and polite.  I just wish that repairmen for other things were as good.  He has set a high bar for others to attempt to reach.  If you need to have your sprinkler system repaired, I highly recommend Rick and Accent Sprinklers.  He is the best!
