"Hi John! Thank you for the review! I am glad you are satisfied with our work! I appreciate your flexibility in scheduling your project, as my family and I were recovering from COVID. Best of luck with the sale of your home!"
"To all prospective customers: ---Design Work--- At Lanter Landscapes, we prioritize your preferences. You always approve our designs before installation. This includes providing pictures and samples of materials, including mulch, gravel, decomposed granite, plants, and more. For plant material, descriptions of their growing habits and a drawing with plant layouts showing their mature size are given. We also incorporate in-person walkthroughs and revisions based on your feedback, whether through a Pinterest board, personal photos, or an objective (butterfly garden, entertaining family members, etc.). During installation, all plants are measured on-site to reflect the drawing. Lastly, these drawings are done at no cost to you. As with this job and every job, you are entirely aware of what will be installed. ---Maintenance--- We insert a maintenance period into all our landscape projects to ensure plant health and that all materials, such as irrigation, are correctly installed. These maintenance periods range from 30 to 90 days, depending on the type and scale of the project. At the time of this project and the writing of this review, Lanter Landscapes does not offer a monthly maintenance service. Due to complications from the pandemic, we ended our gardening service after 40 years in 2020. We plan on starting a drought-tolerant focus maintenance route later this year. For this project, we showed up free of charge after our maintenance period had ended to try to appease this customer, but we were clear before and after the project that we did not have maintenance service. We did not make an excuse not to show up, it is a service we do not offer. Like most projects, all plants for this project are low-maintenance and require trimming once or twice a year, primarily for aesthetic purposes (deadheading, shaping, etc.). Based on designs centred around mature growth, proper spacing eliminates unnecessary maintenance from excess growth. In addition, depending on style, in most landscapes, at full maturity, plants will cover 80% ~ 100% of the landscape area, which significantly, if not wholly, eliminates future weeding and mulch replacement, which was true of this project and many others. As mentioned above, the maintenance of plants is discussed during the design process. ---Experience--- We are a second-generation landscape company, with the family entering the trade in 1978, nearing fifty years in the industry, and two generations in masonry before that. We've worked on drought-tolerant projects for nearly thirty years and have kept up with the ever-changing technology and design trends. I am certified by LADWP and the Theodore Payne Foundation as a California Native Plant Landscaper, and we have completed CEUs at UCLA's Landscape Architecture Program to continue improving our craft. We also attend seminars from suppliers and local nurseries and gardens to stay current. We've assisted customers for nearly ten years designing and implementing turf rebate projects, never being denied, which is also true of this project. At Lanter Landscapes, landscaping isn't just our profession; it's also our passion. I've worked at Lanter Landscapes for twenty years but have been part of the green industry my entire life. I love sharing my passion and knowledge with customers and everyone. Feel free to reach out. We would love to discuss any project! ~Edward Lanter"
