"Thank You [Member Name Removed]. We are happy to hear you are pleased with the service that Truck 2 is providing you. I will pass the warm fuzzy along to the guys in the truck."
Like most people that hire contractors, we believed that Zaharis Landscape would do a good job and follow through if problems arise. That did not happen. I would not recommend this landscaper.
The guys on his crew did work very hard but the owner (John) only showed up occasionally.
Some of the problems were/are:
• Suggested and planted the wrong type of plant (4 have died) for a few areas. They did replace
one plant but blamed the plant dying on over-watering. I had changed NOTHING from their original
watering set-up, except to turn water off when it rained. His employee doing the re-planting (his daughter)
then told me that she was very busy and could not keep coming to fix these problems.
This occurred after they were paid in FULL.
• Planted 10 Climbing Jasmine in a row along a fence/retaining wall. 8 were the same size and 2 in the middle
were much smaller and looked out-of-place. When I ask why 2 were smaller, he said that is what the nursery
had given him and that the 2 smaller Jasmine would catch up. The smaller plants did not catch up and
he ended up doing nothing about it. I was led to believe that Zaharis would control what plants were selected.
• I have replaced the 2 smaller Jasmine and I am in the process of re-planting ALL the plants in the yard
because they were planted to low, not draining correctly and the surrounding rock is too close.
All plant replacements are at our cost -- plants, soil and fertilizer and effort.
• Appeared to run out of rock (Sonoma Gold-not cheap) because he forgot that I wanted certain areas done.
I have had to move all rock away from plants because of the rock smothering plants. After I moved all rock
away from plants, it became apparent how deep (6”) the rock is in some places and therefore, it appears that
he did not need to order more. This cost us an additional $254/material above original estimate.
• It turns out that a Japanese Maple died because of over-watering by following Zaharis’ direction and
then he blamed me (he accused me of continuing to water when it rained - I turned sprinklers off during
the rain). He did replace it after numerous emails exchanges but did a very poor job of planting and I had
to replant the tree. When I replanted the new Japanese Maple, it became clear that he just threw it in the
ground and covered it with some soil. After planting the tree, he left without addressing any of the other
issues that I had made him aware of.
• A landscape consultant was hired at our cost to review the work that Zaharis had done and found the work
to be sloppy. The consultant suggested that all plants should have been at least slightly mounded,
considering they were to be surrounded by rock. They were not.
- Job was poorly planned and managed by the Zaharis
- Sloppy installation of drip system
- Very poor “after job care” and blamed me or the nursery for problems.

"Hello, I'm sorry to hear you did not receive a return call. If I had a name I could do a little research to see what happen (could be an honest mistake as writing down the wrong number), If you would like please give our office a call back ask for John, I maybe out in the field but when I return I will call you personally. Let the ladies in the office know you are from Angies List."
"Thank You for the positive review. Most of all THANK YOU for being a customer of Zaharis Landscaping Inc. for almost a decade."
"We did not do any landscaping work at this property. All that was preformed was a yard service."
When I started their service Mr. Zaharis said the guys would be here for 45-60 minutes per visit. On the first visit they were here for about 20 minutes and worked about 5 - 10 minutes. I called the office about this and we agreed that they would only charge me $20 for that visit instead of $40. Not good but OK.
The next visit they worked about 20 minutes and they tried to leave but I reminded them they were suppose to be here for at least 45 minutes and I was not happy with their service. They moped around awhile and left at about 40 minutes. I called the office a few days later and terminated my service and asked them to return the key. I later sent them the n$60 I owed and requested the key.
On 4/12/16 I called the office and again asked for the key and contact about the key. Have not received the key or contact from them. Beware of this company! They make promises and don't fill them and just try to ignore you!!
"Mr. [Removed Member Name]first let me apologies to you, we did try & keep you happy. It is hard when a husband & wife are not on the same page. Your key has been returned."
"We are happy to hear we were able to save you some money. Thank You for the A"
I've chosen to have John's folks do bi-weekly lawn service along with some of the longer term major yard redevelopment my wife and I plan on having done. This is directly a result of the quality of work/service John provided and the faith we have in him already.
"Thank You for the kind words and being a customer of ours for ALL these years. We appreciate you."
"[Member Name Removed] is correct he made an appointment with us for 14 at 4pm. We do call the day before to confirm appointments if we have to leave a message we ask that the person call us back to confirm. The day of appointment if we still have not heard from customer we try one more time. If we still have not connected we do not show. The only thing I can think of that my have happened is we have your number wrong in the computer. If you would like to give us one more chance I would be more then happy to set up a 5pm appointment so you do not have to leave work early. Once again I'm sorry for this inconvenience."
"Thank You for the kind words & Thank You for being a loyal customer for ALL these years. We appreciate you."
