- I decided to replace some carpeting in my upstairs and stairway, which constituted about 732 square feet. My steps are the wraparound kind with spindles, which is apparently very time consuming and more expensive. The woman, Tina, at Lowe's in Citrus Heights was very personable and knowledgeable about carpeting. Lowe's was running a free install promotion at the time, and even though I decided on a carpet that did not include the promotion, Tina gave it to me anyway. The carpet arrived within 3 days of ordering it, and the installation company called immediately to set up an appointment. The installer, Jesus, was very friendly, and installed the carpet in a professional manner. It looks great so far. (Installation is guaranteed for a year.) I contacted S and G and Home Depot, and for comparable carpet it would have cost more. I got a high quality carpet (Mohawk Smart Strand) which is pet friendly.
My only complaint is that at the time I was ordering my carpet with Tina, about five other customers bombarded her. I stood around for quite a long time before she was able to get back to me and finish the paperwork. Lowe's needs more than one experienced person in their carpet department.
