We were referred to Josh by another contractor we hired to do some work in our new (86 years old, but new to us) house. We had purchased some sheet linoleum (true linoleum, not vinyl) for installation in our laundry room and had already obtained quotes from the two "big" linoleum installers in town, but the referring contractor promised that Josh was the best. He arrived promptly to provide the estimate and quickly noticed something the other two contractors hadn't--that the existing floor was lower (probably about 1/2 inch) than in the two adjacent rooms, one of which was the kitchen, where we would like to eventually extend the same flooring. He provided a separate quote to raise the floor, in case we didn't want to raise the floor (we ultimately decided to raise it up).  His quote for the linoleum installation was competitive with the other two quotes we received and his attention to detail convinced me that he was the guy to do the job for us. He was able to quickly schedule the installation (which we wanted to do before we moved in) and did a beautiful job.  He made sure to ask me which way I wanted the seam to run in the room and offered various options for avoiding wasted material.  He was meticulous in leveling the floor and doing the templates for installation.  The linoleum installation was $750.  We had planned to have another contractor install new baseboards in the laundry room and the adjacent family room (where a contractor Josh recommended did a great job installing new carpet for us) right after the flooring install.  When he was unavailable, Josh jumped in and installed the baseboards for us, for an extra $200, just in time for our move in. 

We purchased the hardwood flooring ourselves and were planning to put it in but we were running short on time so we hired him. He went way beyond the call. He knew he was bidding against several other guys and apparently in this area there are a few guys that are really well known for flooring installation and he is one of them. He gave us an offer of doing most of the prep work, labor free, and just charging for the cost of the materials because he really wanted the job. We agreed but I thought he would do a halfway job. He did the most meticulous work, both on the prep work as well as the flooring that I have ever seen. My general contractor was also impressed. We have an older home that has gone through a lot of settling and there are a lot of areas that are uneven. He went through and did an amazing job. I had done a lot of the leveling myself but he went over and made it far better. With hardwood floors if there is a leveling problem they will squeak and this whole house is just rock solid. It is unbelievable because we had so many problems with the sub floor that we didn't think we would get it where it is. I can't say enough about this guy. I would highly recommend him and I would use him again.
