"Thank you!!! We loved this project. It was our joy to be able to help a couple of people in the rebuilding process after the fire 4 years ago. The suppliers up there between Foothill Milling and Lumber and the local Ace hardware stores were stellar to deal with. We loved being able to take your dream concept and turn it into a reality! Please enjoy it for many years to come! Steve, Judah, Micah, and the, gang."
"There is a saying: "You get what you pay for." This customer had many quotes, some higher and some much lower. He chose us for a few reasons, high ratings, we have liability insurance (others did not), we are bonded (some were not), and we gave him plenty of pictures of projects we have done to show the craftsmanship of our work. In addition, this project is an hour away from our hub of services. We shored up the decking where there were flaws from previous workers and brought the steps and repairs up to code (which was not done when originally built). We might be a bit more generous than others, but he also got more done than others were willing to do."
"Thank you Karen and Steve. You were both easy to work with, helped with coming up with ideas and solutions that made this decking look great! Blessings!!! Judah, Micah, Steve, Parker and Landon"
"Thank you!!! This was a fun project for us. I am glad you love the results."
"Not sure who this might be as I don't see us doing a project up in Auburn during this time period. We did do a door in Auburn last fall. The homeowner contacted us about the door sticking. We tried to arrange a time and lost contact due to their crazy work schedule. We re-connected a couple of months later, arranged a time and we went back up there to adjust the door hinges until the door was level and perfect. Another one I can think of was in Roseville where the homeowner called to say that a screw was loose on the new door handle. We simply asked if they had tried to tighten it. The customer started screaming obscenities to my son on the phone. We hung up and then called him back to say we would be happy to come over it he could be civil and he started cursing and screaming again...we hung up and did not retry. We have the right to refuse service to someone unreasonable."
"We ended up doing the job. She had bought a custom door that was on sale for a great price. The problem was is that it was NOT the right size for her doorway. It was close and someone started to work on it but gave up due to the complications it presented. We had to find some Mahogany hardwood with a similar wood grain pattern to match the door so that we could custom cut and extend to the door jamb. We then had to custom mix a stain to match the door color. We installed the new door and fitted the new custom woodwork to fit like a glove. It came out beautiful. She has since hired us to install a custom French door with glass for her office and performed some renovation work in her garage."
"Thanks for all the good words! Wow, this was a complicated job. For our readers, this was an 18 x 18 x 16-foot tall Gazebo/deck combo that had severe dry rot and termite damage. What made it complicated was that it was surrounded by Terracotta colored concrete patio and walkway. We could not simply cut it and let it fall so that we could take it apart while on the ground. (That would have been easy). Nope...we had to cut a hole at the top and then start to cut and disassemble it by dropping the debris through the top hole onto the decking below. We then got to a point where we could cut the roofing to then pull sections down upon the supporting beams. We then whittled our way down to where we then could cut and drop the supporting posts. We then took the decking and substructure down to the ground. Looks good now and ready for the concrete people to do their job."
