+ -1 moreThe technician was there on time and proceeded to check whether we had a plugged evaporator coil. He spent a good 45 minutes painstakingly getting into the sealed compartment to check. After noticing that it was fine, he checked the vent and discovered that it was a return instead of a supply air vent. He then concluded that the problem with the stat was probably a bad capacitor in the motherboard without even checking it. He offered to install a new stat but I declined. He then demanded payment of $162 for a little over an hours work- either cash or credit card. The immediate payment stipulation was not mentioned during the initial appointment. I have since discovered that the problem with the stat was a green corrosion on the battery contacts. A simple cleaning of the contacts corrected the problem.
Description of Work: To diagnose problem of no cold air coming out of a vent and a malfunctioning thermostat

+ 0 moreThey got it cleaned out and got the smell out of it. They were up there hosing, cleaning, spraying and all that stuff in there. They were reasonable. They come out quick.
Description of Work: They went through my father's house and cleaned out the air conditioning duct. They tried to bring up the power of the air conditioner.

+ -1 moreThe job was handled very professionally. The work crews arrived on time, and they were courteous and efficient. For the rebate a City of Roseville inspector had to an inspection when the job was complete. The inspector told me that the job was done correctly and was very clean. He had been inspecting a lot of homes for the rebate qualifications, and this was only the second one that he had found that the contractor had done everything correctly. The unit has been working well, and I can tell it is already more efficient.
Description of Work: Replaced the heating and air conditioning unit in my home to meet the specifications for a utility rebate.

+ -1 moreCapacitor probably $30. part charged me $50. Took him an 30 to 40 min to replace, drug it out to an hour so charged me hour labor. Walked into my house without shoe covers. Most repair, plumbers, PGE and others all wear shoes covers. Told me he was new to air conditioning repair. Overall not great experience.

Description of Work: Capital Mecanical is inthe Heating and Air conditioning and repair business. After already using this company for almost a year, they had just replaced another full heating system in an apartment complex. We had them look at another in the same complex and they worked on it for almost a month and could not fix it so they suggested replacing the entire system (2nd one). Called over another company for a second opinion and they repaired in about three hours for a cost of approximately $400.00 . This second company claimed whoever was working on it did not know what they were doing. Wiring was all messed up. Other incidences they were using the excuse of not being able to get in although we have an On-Site Manager and written permission from the Tenant to go in to repair. Each job we have hired them to do seem to take longer than normal.

+ -1 moreTHEY DID GOOD QUALITY WORK FOR ME. I GAVE THEM ALL A'S BECAUSE THEY WERE GREAT AT WHAT THEY DID. I WOULD DEFINITELY HIRE THEM AGAIN, AND I HAVE RECOMMENDED THEM TO FRIENDS AND FAMILY AS WELL.
