San Diego Glassart

I had designed and hand built a princess/captain's bed for my daughter with two towers. I built it with purpleheart and maple accents and a detailed baluster with vine and rose appliques; it is very high quality woodworking. I wanted two arched stained glass windows for the towers about 1 square foot each, but fairly detailed, showing a princess and a mermaid. Lorenia was able to come up with a design with a few emails, sending pictures of what the windows would look like and making changes that we requested. She was very patient with our indecision. Once the design was finalized, she came to our house and showed us the glass samples. She had an amazing selection - must have been >50 lbs of glass rectangles and beads that we could choose from. She included our three-year-old daughter in the glass selection, which we thought was very sweet! Three weeks later, we picked up the windows and we are amazed at the quality. I'll try to add a picture, but I don't think it will do it justice - they're absolutely beautiful and far exceed our expectations. The mermaid's tail has a shimmery quality that changes the look from different angles. We're thinking about some other stained glass projects for our skylights, which we never would have considered prior to this experience.
