Ray's took our quote over a month before the repairs and honor the original quote at time of service.
While repairing the problem, he found that the transmission coolant pipe was damage and allowed water into the transmission which contributed to the original problem.
The only extra cost was for a transmission cooling pump with no extra labor costs.
He was recommended by a coworker and many other in the office uses his service for the quality and costs.

Ray's Car Care is very honest and fix the car whenever I want him. They are very competent.

Called in morning and was advised to bring car in that same morning. Very pleasant and helpful. Gave us an estimate and time frame when car work would be completed. Called us when there was a delay in getting a car part; called us back when car part was in and when to expect car work to be finished. We like the fact that Ray keeps us informed about prices and there are no surprises. Very honest and fair.

This is on a '64 Chevy C-10 pick-up. Ray had hoped to get the rad rebuilt, but it was too far gone. Parts books and internet sites all say one of two rads for this truck, according to engine displacement. It ain't so. Neither fits. Wound up with another recored rad for $250. Other parts were about $150. Only $150 labor.

Joined Angie's List and selected an automotive shop within my area and 15 mins. later, was on the phone with Ray himself. He listened to the problem; said to come in that same morning. The car was promptly assessed and a price was given. Ray answered all our questions; and was always accessible by phone. I left the car at his shop and had my own ride home. They drove my fixed car home to pick me up and I returned to the shop where my old radiator was available to me if I wanted the defective part. This was all part of their excellent service. All of this was done within 3 hours of my initial call. We are now going to have our 3 cars serviced with Ray's whenever there is a need. Their team was courteous, knowledgeable and efficient. We were pleasantly surprised and this was our first time with finding someone on Angie's List. We will absolutely recommend Ray's in Chula Vista for anyone needing automotive help.

The turn-around time was fast! Much cheaper than the dealership!
