On a more recent occasion, I even called him out (over a 30 minute drive) to take a look at a clogged drain that I was thinking was more complicated than it really was. When he arrived, it turned out to be not as complicated as first thought. Rather than him doing the work and charging me for it, he encouraged me to save a few dollars and follow his steps (very simple) and do it myself. I did and it took 5 minutes.
