After describing the work needed during the initial call for information and estimate, Mr. Fletcher quoted the minimum price for the job, which he said included clean-up. We called back the next day to schedule an appointment, reviewed the quote and were told that to haul away the material would cost an additional $50. We had expected hauling away the material to be included in the initial quote as "clean-up". We decided to go forward with the project.
We scheduled an appointment for today at 11:00 A.M. and Eric arrived at 10:20 A.M. (no problem: we were prepared). He measured the space carefully and proceeded with the work efficiently, but because he forgot to include in his tool kit the piece of equipment that cuts corners, we have extra grooves at the corners that were not expected. And on two sides, the saw blade had not cut through the concrete completely, leaving uneven cuts. We can live with these flaws because of our plans for the concrete and the opening. We appreciated Eric's attention to detail when cleaning up and we felt as he gains experience in this work, his cutting skills will rate among the best.
(The rating system did not include the options for "+" or minus symbols, but we would definitely give Eric a B+ for "Quality".)
One caveat: This company was previously owned by James Ferguson and now operates by the name of James Fletcher Construction. The information in Angie's List needs to be updated.

We called Stan on a Monday, he returned our call in a timely manner and after asking a few questions we were given an estimate on the phone. We arranged to have the work done that same week. Stan and his crew arrived on time and started the work immediately. The concrete was thicker than anyone had imagined and it took a supreme effort and a lot more time than expected to cut it up. We also asked if they would also take out the steps, which was not in the original estimate. They did this with a small increase in the price. This was agreed upon before he started the work. Stan did not increase his original estimated price for the extra work involved in the concrete being much thicker than expected. He said that he would stick with his estimate. They finished the job in a day and cleaned up the site. I would very highly recommend this company, they were honest, polite and hard working.

Dave showed up on time (actually a bit early) and did a fabulous job. He cut through the slab quickly, efficiently, and worked neatly. He showed consideration for our home, and certainly pride in his work. We look forward to using this company again.

I APPRECIATED THE FACT THAT THEY WERE VERY PROFESSIONAL IN THEIR WORK. ALTHOUGH, I HAVE TO SAY, THEY WEREN'T SNAPPY DRESSERS, BUT THEN WHAT DO YOU EXPECT CONCRETE GUYS TO WEAR!? THEY WERE FAST, AND PLEASANT TO WORK WITH. THEIR PRICE, I THOUGHT WAS VERY FAIR.
