II Shea did an excellent job. We were very impressed with their punctuality, knowledge, professionalism and response time. There were 8 roofers out to work on the roof. It was completed in two days. The city inspectors said that the torching on the roof was a top notch job. After the repair, everything was cleaned up and replaced. Superb job- a huge thanks to Joe and his crew!

After years of drought, the rain in this season produced several leaks. Had 3 estimates, including one from III Shea Roofing, Joe Shea, the owner, came over for the to provide the estimate. His was the lowest of the 3. That along with Joe's knowledge and down to earth personality left me feeling confident that this was the company I was going to have my roof replaced with. After signing the contract and getting put on his job calendar, we were set to start in two weeks time. That was pushed to 3 weeks when we had more rain. Joe's team started the job on a Monday morning at 7am and were complete at 2:30pm on Tuesday. Joe said that any new wood that faced the elements would be painted. Since I plan on painting the house after the roof, I provided him with the color of paint for my trim and he used it...this will save me lots of time when it comes to paint. The new roof looks great. The city inspector even commented on how nice the roof looks and how clean of a job they did. I would definitely recommend II Shea Roofing.

We had Shea Roofing reroof our home.  They did a great job!  Their estimate was honest and fair and we got it immediately, unlike other roofers who we had to call and remind we were waiting for their estimate.  The tear down and roofing went quickly and they even put on a second crew when it looked like it could have rained.  Their crews were pleasant, courteous, and the the clean-up was done to our satisfaction.  Highly recommended.

Joe was responsive from the very first call. He handled the permit process, showed me multiple roofing samples, and the entire rerouting was completed in three days.

This was a truly positive and excellent experience!! My repair was such a small job, I had trouble finding a roofer that was willing to do it for a reasonable price. Because of the high cost of insurance needed to protect roofing workers, all roofers have a minimum charge for a roofing job...the best price I found was $650, but I didn't want to pay this much for a small 2-hour repair job. I contacted several Handymen to see if it would be possible for them to do it, but all of them told me they cannot carry the expensive safety insurance for roofers. However, one of the handymen referred me to "II Shea Roofing," whom he had worked with several times. The referral worked out perfectly! Joe came out and looked at the roof while I was gone (I couldn't get off work) and called me with a remarkably reasonable estimate. We left the scheduling open-ended and waited about a week for him to have a day when his workers would have an extra hour to do my repair. I thought this was fair. Joe contacted me the day before he wanted to do the repair and the workers showed up at 7:30 AM the next day to get it done. It was already really hot, but they worked continuously. One worker focused on the loose missing/loose tiles, one focused on the cement spot, and a 3rd worker shuttled supplies they needed back & forth from the truck. This seemed pretty efficient to me since they didn't waste time going up & down the 2-story ladder. I was very impressed that they fixed the roof paper and cement, since this showed me they weren't just doing the bare minimum...I really appreciate thoroughness and quality when people work on my house. I was also impressed that they re-secured ALL of the tiles along the gable rake (I could see the shiny new nails) and not just the obviously loose tiles right next to the missing tile. They also made sure to use replacement tile that was faded to the same color as the surrounding tile (since the repair was on the very-visible front of the house). They cleaned up and removed all the broken tile and left no trash or debris behind...I really appreciate this, since I've had plenty of workers leave refuse behind. They were done in 1 hour, which was quicker than I was expecting. The workers were nice & professional...this was a welcome change from workers I've had in the past who seem to talk more than work, or they complain and cuss through the entire job. The II Shea workers even seemed cheery, with one of them quietly singing while he worked. Partway through the job, they turned on some music but kept it to a more than reasonable volume. I gave them ice water and they were gracious and appreciative. I gave them a check and they left waving & saying thank you. So in addition to doing a stellar job, they were  pleasant and courteous.
I hire people to do periodic roof maintenance, and I will definitely call II Shea Roofing next time. They were outstanding!!!

He did an excellent job regarding the new roof. It would have been nice had he would have disclosed information ahead of time regarding the additional costs that were placed on the final invoice. He then went out of his way to make sure we were able to get this paid for.  I believe they should clairify their business model, they should have been up front about the additional costs that I was charged.

Shea Roofing II we used in December or January.  We spent I want to say $17,000 something like that.  I would say they did what they said they were going to do on time and they were very professional and a great job.

We had obtained estimates from several roofing contractors, and while all would be considered professional, Joe Shea's level of professionalism really made him stand out.  His workers were also a pleasure to work with.
We left a message on a Thursday to schedule an estimate, and received a call back from Amy the following Monday.  Joe arrived on time for the estimate.  He had a polite manner, was easy to talk to, seemed willing to take the time to listen and respond to our various detailed questions, and was informative.  He seemed familiar with the design of (and problem with) our rafter tails, and took the time to explain what all would be involved in the repair of the rafter tails.  He emailed the estimate within a couple of
days, and he also sent a hard copy in the mail.  His price was competitive.  The proposal was detailed and straightforward without the troubling contractor-slanted legalese seen in other roofers' contracts.  We communicated a few times, asking for clarifications and additions. We were impressed that he was willing to work with us in making adjustments to the wording in the proposal.  Communication was a little bumpy in that it seemed there were email glitches which led to communication
delays.  But all our questions were eventually addressed.   Amy was friendly and helpful.  They readily provided copies of insurance certificates.
The job was estimated to take 2.5 days.  It only took longer because of rain delays.  They covered the roof with plastic, and we had no problem with leaks.  The workers were company employees, not day laborers or subcontractors -- something that was important to us.  They were hard-working, arriving early, leaving late, working continually with minimal breaks.  They did an excellent job cleaning up.  Most were primarily Spanish-speaking, so at times language was a little bit of an issue.   During the job, Joe Shea was readily available by phone.  He took care of the permit and arranging both the sheathing and final inspections.  He walked around with us when the job was complete and answered our questions.
We also asked him if he had a recommendation for a gutter company, which he did.  After checking with a few gutter contractors, we ended up going with the one Joe had recommended, and were pleased with their work as well.

This experience was unbelievable!! I had Joe out on a Tuesday for an estimate, he sent me an email proposal on Friday, April 6th and the next day came also a paper proposal in the mail. I sent the signed proposal back on April 10th because the other proposal didn't come from another company where the estimator came out the same day as Joe Shea. It took the other company full 2 weeks to send me that estimate even I sent them an email asking about it! The other company, La Roque, would have been cheaper, but I already signed the proposal for II Shea Roofing, when theirs finally arrived!

I got a little worried when I fist didn't hear back from Joe, even I also wrote an email to call me when the repair could be started. Than I called him myself on the 23th at noon, he returned my call around 5 pm and asked me if tomorrow morning would be ok to do the roof repair? I said yes. I wasn't prepared though that his crew would ring the door bell at 7 am sharp!! Our last roofer started work around 9 am or even later amd he worked for over 2 weeks on the same size of roof on the other side of the house to finish! ! I wasn't prepared for the fast work either!! At 9 am the roof was cleaned, the damaged wood removed and the first row of liner applied, when I took the second picture, I couldn'0t believe my eyes, how fast they also cleanned all the dirt and dust away under the clay times that accumulated there! at 12:20 the men rung the door bell and told me, they were finished! It took them a little over 5 hours, there were 3 working. They also took away all dirt too, nothing in our trash bin left, which was also a new and great experience for me, to have such clean roofers!

I asked the men if they know, when Joe the owner would come out and they told me they didn't know, they are only sent out to do the job and than leave when they are done. Joe Shea called me the next morning and I asked if he comes to inspect and collect the fee and he said yes. He arrived soon later and I told him how happy I was about this roofing experience and how fast and clean they worked, I asked him for a next estimate for my next roof repairs which I am awaiting now.
