The Company Representative told us that this type of re-glazing should last SEVERAL years and that if we ever had any problems, just to call them. There was no mention, either verbally or in writing about a limited warranty. Immediately afterward it looked like a brand new sink. Just beautiful. However, less then a year later (about 8 months later) we noticed that the finish was beginning to peal off in large pieced around the bottom corners. We called the company. After leaving several messages they finally returned our call. We explained to them what was happening. They admitted that the finish should not be peeling and they set up an appointment to come out and repair the problem. Admittedly, once I was able to talk to them they never questioned or argued about fixing the problem. However, the same problem recurred once more, this time less then 9 months from the repairs made the first time. I began calling the company in November of 2011 requesting call backs. I finally had a friend call on Monday, December 26, pretending to be a new potential customer, they called back that night. When I got on the phone and explained what was happening, they said that they would be closed until after New Years, but that he would call me back on Monday, January 2. They didn?t. So again the calling and leaving messages started. I was finally able to talk to the owner late in the evening on Wednesday the 4th. He said he did not remember any conversation which we had before the New Year. When I again explained what was happening with the finish peeling off, he said he would have to check his records and get back to me. He didn?t. Finally, after sending them a fax threatening to file a report with the Better Business Bureau and business reviews on the internet, the owner called me on Friday, January 6, and made arrangement to repair the problem (but only after I promised never to contact him again). He arrived at 9 a.m. on Wednesday the 11th of January. He stayed a total of 20 minutes. After the odor dissipated and we were able to look at the result, we were horrified. Sloppy does not come close to describing the results. There was enamel dust EVERYWHERE in the kitchen from where he apparently did spot sanding on the areas which needed repair. The dust was on the counters, the stove across the room, the microwave, even inside the toaster. He then literally slopped on the enamel coating so haphazardly that he even got some on the chrome sink fixtures. And what is even worse, he did the repairs in a different finish then the rest of the sink. Instead of having a smooth porcelain like finish like the rest of the sink, the repaired areas are in a very rough sandpaper finish very much like unglazed ceramic.
I truly feel that if they had done the job correctly the first time, none of this would have ever happened. Even withstanding that, sometimes mistakes happen. But when they do, an honorable company will stand behind their product and try to fix the problems. Franklin Interiors does not. They first try to avoid the problem by not returning phone calls, hoping the problem will go away. Or by putting their customers off, telling them they will check into the matter and get back to them. And then, when they do decide to repair the problem, they rush through with a substandard and shoddy repair. I would NEVER recommend this company, not even to my worst enemy.
