Mike reviewed overall health of the tree and reported that the tree was fine but under watered. He suggested a new watering schedule. He said the tree did not need trimming for another 2 years. He left. I moved forward with the watering changes. Two weeks later one of the two 40 foot trunks came crashing down. (Missed the house) I called a tree service company (I had used them before) and they indicated the other trunk was at risk would fall down soon (it would taken out the house). I arranged for it to be removed before it could damage my entire house (paid extra as it was an emergency). I left Mike a message and email about this and asked for a response. He failed to contact me. He doesn't appear to be interested in this outcome. I cannot recommend California Arbor Care and Mike Parker for any work in this area.

Great job trimming my stone pine. They were on time, professional and were very careful not to damage my other plants.

Did not answer the questions posed to him. Did not know much about fruit trees and had no suggestions on his own. It was just waste of money and time. I would have been better of if I had lost this money, at least I would have saved the time.

We were extremely pleased with both the response and the work provided by this company.  The morning after I requested an estimate, we received a call saying an estimator would be at our home by 8 a.m.  He showed up right on time.  
We accepted their estimate and were subsequently contacted and told it would be approximately a week before they could schedule us.  However, they found an opening and we were able to have the work performed within two days of approving their estimate.
The two men who arrived were extremely efficient and worked steadily to trim our lime tree back to a reasonable size.  All the debris was removed.  We were very pleased with the quality of the work, and we would definitely use this company again.

iI contacted California Arbor Care through the Angie's List mobile app messaging tool and received a reply almost immediately. An appointment was scheduled quickly, and for a date within a couple of days of my inquiry.
Mike Parker came out to look at a large tree in our front yard that needed to be removed. He provided an estimate via email the next day and was very good about answering follow-up questions about what kind of tree we could use to replace the one being removed. I really appreciate service providers who are willing to do business over email. We also added on another, much smaller, tree to the request and he came back with a revised estimate very quickly. The price was very reasonable. For about $1100, they removed both trees, ground the stumps, refilled the holes, ordered and planted new trees, and hauled everything away.
My only complaint s that it took more than a week to actually schedule a day for them to come and do the work. I don't mean the work was scheduled for one week later - that would have been fine. I mean it took more than a week for them to tell me what day they would come. Given their prompt replies to everything else, that delay was disappointing. Once they finally called to schedule, they came within a couple of days.
One the day of the work, they arrived promptly when they said they would. They were very courteous and professional to us and our neighbor whose yard is adjacent to the area where the large tree was located. The work was done quickly, but carefully, and they were finished well within their estimated time frame.
If I need more tree work done, I will definitely call California Arbor Care.

Brad the estimator was pleasant, quick and businesslike.  We received another estimate for $5,000 (from artistic non-ISA-arborist) and a 3rd estimate for $2,150 (from non-ISA tree service).  We chose CA Arbor Care for 3 reasons: because Michael Parker, the owner, has 2 ISA arborist certifications; because Brad was certain they would use a bucket truck and the access road behind our house, and because their website was informative & intelligent.
On the day of service, the tree cutters (all licensed and fully trained, BTW) had no info on the access road and they said the bucket truck was tied up on another job.  We were disappointed but gave them the go-ahead.  Good decision: the trees look beautiful and balanced.  The workers are true experts, climbed the trees with ropes, and lowered the larger/medium sized branches via ropes.  They did eventually get their chipper on the access road to reduce their effort in removing branches & to avoid the need to drag heavy wood through the backyard & around the side of the house.
I**** I'd like to give them the "Page of Happiness"  award.  Did that go away from Angie's List?

It went well.  After he explained that the problem wasn't serious, he also advised that the tree didn't need to be trimmed for at least a year.  So he didn't try to sell me any services I didn't need.

The team did great work and we were very happy with them.

They are extremely helpful.  My husband contacted them 2 years after they did the work to ask their advice about some tree roots in the city parkway, and if the city arborist was handling the problem correctly.  They were happy to provide advice that really helped us deal with the city.

We will use them again in the future when needed.

It went well. The price was reasonable. They came in when they said they were going to come. They removed all of the branches that they cut out of all the trees. We had one issue with they were going to do but they forgot to do it. The onwer came back the next day and resolved it immediately. We got a response when we had questions. They were on time.

The crew know their job and got it done in very little time.  Very careful of surrounding plants and trees. Cleaned up work area after finishing job. Placed safety cones on street around parked truck. Moved truck when neighbors needed access to street and/or driveway.  Gave care directions for newly planted tree.

Never got back to me with a bid

We gave them a call in July and they said they would still honor the quote. They were by far the most reasonable quote. I had quotes ranging from $900-$5,000.

 Right next to my front door, I had a 50-ft. Canary Island Pine that continuously dropped needles on my roof making it look like it was thatched.  The needles got under the shingles, lifting them and causing leaks.  There was an ugly Carolina Cherry tearing up my driveway, and a very dead avocado in my front yard. 
The crew arrived on time, immediately began work cutting down the trees, took one hour break for lunch, and worked four more hours--in 90+-degree weather.  They pruned an Aleppo Pine, and then found that my liquidambar was diseased, needed pruning, and medication. 
When they finished everything was cleared away and cleaned up, including my roof, from which they had blown off all of the leaves and needles. 
The price was about $800 less than the previous estimates I had received, and when I have more tree issues, I will definitely call California Arbor Care again.

They arrived on time with about 5 on the crew.  They arrive a little early.  They worked quickly.  Everything was great.

Extremely well.  I have used them before and was well satified.  There have all the insurance and licenses needed and most important carry workers compensation.  Many other tree trimmers have a state license but list the have no employees so there for they do not carry workers comp.  This puts home owners in great peril.  Even there home insurance wont come to their rescue.  The workers who showed us (4) were all nice and professional.  They understood what to do and at least 2 spoke Englis - a rarity these day!

Cal Arbor was to begin the work at 7:00 a.m.   I was up early and heard them rolling in with their big cherry picker lift.   They pulled in front of the house and waited for the rest of their crew, which were all present and accounted for by 7:00 or earlier.   The men reviewed the job with their supervisor, (the gentleman that came out and quoted the job to me), discussing what needed to be done, and set the work in motion.   The work was done on a Monday, so we did not have any issues with disturbing any of the neighbors, but honestly, they were surprising quiet considering the big job they were performing.   The supervisor had estimated the job would take them approximately 4.5 to 5 hours, and he was right on.  They were pretty much done by noon, and that is including total clean up of all the leaves and branches they cut.   Nothing remained on our roof or the ground.  They removed it all.
They cut one leg of that huge branch crossing over the roof, and that took the weight off the remaining portion of the branch, allowing it to lift itself upward.   The arborists removed all the dead wood throughout the two trees, plus all the suckers, and balanced both of the trees.   On the roots of the one tree, they cleared out the roots safely for us to complete the rest of our sprinkler project.
We are repeat customers of Cal Arbor.  They do exactly what you want them to do and more.   They are extremely punctual, very safe, have excellent equipment and their workers have lots of experience.   My yard had no leaves, branches or debris left over when they were done either -- they cleaned up everything really well.  Also, they are licensed and bonded, and that was important to us.

Crew showed up on time.  The work they did was very good, very professional.     The 2 carrotwoods they laced looked wonderful.    Also, everything was picked up...very neat and clean.  I will use them again next year.  A very satisfied customer.

They were on time, thorough, rather fast considering how much work they did, and cleaned up after themselves. Since they were so reasonably priced I plan to use them annually so my trees don't get so overgrown again.
