Lawn Tool Repair
I had a friend take the mower to Chico Power Equip. in her cow trailer. We had to coordinate work schedules and get it in by
5:30 before they closed. I told them what issues I wanted addressed and said I would pick it up in 2 weeks when I returned
from vacation. When I picked it up, I asked if they had tested it because it was such a big deal for me to get it there and I
didn't want to return it. They said they didn't have any lawn to test it but that it looked fine! When I got home, I immediately
tried mowing and the grass catcher wasn't working at all (it made a noise before but picked up the grass fine). They did
fix the strip of grass that had been left in the swath. I called the next day and talked to 2 people before I was transferred
to Doug. I told him about the problem and he said they hadn't touched the grass catcher so he would not fix it under
their 90 day warranty. I told him that couldn't be correct because the grass catcher was one of the 2 issues I had
specifically asked to be checked. He said that if they came and picked it up and fixed the problem, it would cost
"hundreds of dollars". He also asked me why I brought my mower to them in the first place - what an odd question
from an owner of a repair facility!
The next day I called a local service man who came & picked it up and said he tightened all the bolts holding the
belts in place because they were all so loose - they couldn't possibly hold the belts. He did that for $50 and the mower
has worked perfectly since. How did the service techs at Chico Power Co. miss that? So much for your commitment
to quality service & customer satisfaction Doug!
