 + -1 moreIn addition to feeling taken advantage of, we feel betrayed. My husband, a general contractor, has provided Chico Fireplace and Insulation with business for years. Even though their initial estimate was higher, we went with them. This has been a disappointing nightmare.
Description of Work: We ordered & paid for a fireplace insert 9/2008. After waiting 2 months for installation, Chico Fireplace said our model was not in stock, but they had a smaller version which would heat our home just as well. We accepted as this is our primary source of heat and winter was here.. The Napolean stove does NOT do as the brochure and Chico Fireplace says. We called both Chico Fireplace and Napolean for several months with no response. We went out to the Chico Fireplace showroom twice. Finally Chico Fireplace sent out a salesman who told us that our 2 small double-pane windows were the reason we were still cold!! (Our house is fully insulated). Repeated calls and letters on our behalf to Chico Fireplace with no response. Napolean says the insulation may be installed wrong. Finally in May, the Chico owner said he was out of the fireplace business. However, it is now October and Chico Fireplace is running fireplace ads on the local TV.
