Robert from Roto Rooter Culver City helped me with late night service for a condo toilet common drain backup. Best service technician of any type I've ever had come to my home. Set me up for success for future maintenance. Gracious person. Thanks Robert.

Matthew. R was not only very personable but extremely knowledgeable. He was able to explain exactly what was needed to correct the problem with my kitchen sink that was backed up, as well as work that is needed in the near future. He did an excellent job and I'm extremely satisfied and grateful for his amazing service.

They are pretty good. He was very honest. He did not charge us. He could have said you need new stems or you need new whatever. He was very honest with us and I thought that was very good. I don't know what their regular price would be but for this it was an A.

It went okay, but it did not fix the root of the problem, which was root on the sewer pipe.

They let me know that they wouldn't quote me on a sewer cleanup job until the service provider is on site to see the job. The guy came out and looked my very simple project that typically costs $75 quoted me at $250. I am a little old lady, and I was shocked that a job that typically only costs $75 could be quoted so highly. I was so appalled that he had tried to take advantage of me that I told him to leave immediately. I decided to wait until my regular plumber comes back.

The work was so-so, the price was fair, nothing terrible, and the guy was nice. He left a leaking sink and apology when I called him back. He came back the next day and fixed it. The quality is not a hundred percent, but was okay. Overall experience, I will give him a B.

Folks were very responsive, provided a quote after the visit, and laid out exactly what and when they will do the services. The gentleman in was very professional. Only reason I gave a "B" on quality is that he forgot to connect the water heater hose properly, which Ieaked a bit and I had to do afterwards. Not a big deal, but would surely expect these amll things to be taken care off.

Excellent phone response.  I called late Monday night and they scheduled appointment first thing Monday morning.  Carlos arrived and used high tech sensors to find the leak. That cost over $400.  He then turned off the water to the house so it wouldn't keep leaking and said another plumber would be coming by to fix the problem because the entry to get under my house was too small for him.  A few hours later another guy showed up, but the entry was too small for him too, so he called another guy.  You guessed it, it was too small for the third guy too!  So at 7:00pm a 4th guy showed up (Robert) and he was able to fit he stayed until almost midnight capping off all the leaks and basically making temporary fixes so we could at least use the bathroom and shower.  We still couldn't use sink, dishwasher, or water from fridge, but it was better than no water at all.  On Friday (Robert was off on Thursday) Robert was back at 9am to complete the work.  He left at 6pm with everthing done.  He replaced the ice maker pipe and put it inside the cabinets this time (instead of under the house) and installed a shutoff under the sink.  He also replaced the "santee?" looks like a "T"  that had a broken connection to the kitchen sink pipe.  He snaked the kitchen sink pipe before reattaching it.  He also fixed small leaks under the bathroom.

The Roto Rooter guy showed up and said if I wanted him to take a look at
the problem the charge would be a minimum of $210 for any fraction of an hour. Last
time they came out it was $89. He told me that they can charge
whatever rate they want and he was going to charge $210, didn't matter
that the last Roto Rooter guy charged $89 for the same thing. I will
never use them again.

We had an apparent clog in our sewer line causing some backup into our basement from a drain on the floor. I made an appointment with Roto-Rooter through their website for 8-10am on 6/12.  Although they were late getting here, they did make no fewer than 3 phone calls between 9:00am and 10:30 letting me know they were running late and giving me updates. Aaron arrived at about 11am. He was very courteous and professional. He asked questions and told me what he would do and how much it would cost before beginning. He cleaned the wheels of his augur machine before entering our house and cleaned them again before exiting the basement. He finished the job much sooner than the 2-hour estimation on the work-order he had me sign before starting.  He gave me some good advice about keeping the line clear and suggested further steps if we found this to be a recurring problem. The service came with a 6-month guarantee--any clogs within six months, and they would come back out and augur it again for free.
The only reason i gave them a "B" for price was because I have no reference for what auguring 100 feet of sewer pipe should cost. It seems kind of pricy for an hours worth of work, but on the other hand, it seems a small price to pay to be able to take a shower without the worry of flooding one's basement!

Roto-Rooter Plumbing and Drain Services as far as the work they did a nice job as far as what they did. What they didn't do they didn't plug up the holes in the house. They just left it the way it was. I haven't talked to them about it yet. Another thing that I was a little bit concerned with too was the size of what I had in my sink down to the trap, they changed the size of it, I don't know what size I had but it was a larger size, they changed it to a smaller size. They didn't discuss any of that with me.

Roto-Rooter gets an A Plus!! In contrast, a year earlier I called a big company I found in the yellow pages when we had a water line leak at the base of the same toilet. It was a heavy sales push. The plumber couldn't give me an estimate without removing the toilet. One thing led to another, starting with and quot;Well, it will cost you $160 for me to take the toilet off to see the problem.and quot; What am I gonna do if I decide the proposal is too costly? I would have had to pay him to put the toilet back and then find another plumber! Sadly, I think some plumbers know you are desperate and will agree to the quickest solution. It's and quot;foot in the doorand quot; salesmanship. Also, I believe that sometimes the guy who comes to your house is a subcontractor who gets jobs under the umbrella of a company name. They get a percentage of everything they talk you into. Aside from the work that was necessary, he tried to talk me into a new toilet for $800 which I declined. The job eventually cost $1745 which included replacing a faulty toilet handle on another toilet for $90!!!! This was work for my 88 year old mother, and this is a company that advertises a and quot;senior discount.and quot; After paying for a $1655 job, I think they could have thrown in the cheap plastic toilet handle for free. It took the plumber about two minutes to install it. It's possible that the $1655 was a fair price for the work completed (he did fix the leak), but the pushiness of the plumber made me doubt it. Of course, shame on me for agreeing to pay $90 for installing a plastic toilet handle, but I was tired from the ordeal and wanted it done. On top of everything, he hinted that if I called the company to tell them how great a job he did he might get a bonus of free movie tickets for his family. I definitely knew I wanted a different plumber on the next call. I will not call them again.

Enough about the bad guys. So let me tell you about the good guys: Robby of Roto-Rooter was so nice, respectful, informative (I never knew you could go through the roof vents! We had cleared a backed up toilet (same d*** vine) a couple of years earlier when the plumber went through the toilet - what a mess!). Robert worked on the roof and did not disturb my mother or her routine one bit! He was honest. There were no hidden costs. He told me exactly what it would cost, and he didn't try to talk me into something else. I saved his number in my address book. Luckily, we haven't had any problems since, but this particular Roto-Rooter is on my Speed Dial. And if we decide to install an outlet, I will call him. Robert came highly recommended by a local plumber (neighbor) who had used him on some big contracted jobs. He told me he would be fair. And guess what, it pays off! This is the guy I will call next time. So do you want one job for a lot of money and never get called back, or do you want a fair job and to be put on someone's rolodex for the future not to mention recommendations to neighbors and friends. Think about it. I will never call the first company I used again. I am going to call Robert of Roto-Rooter. Oh, and they sent me a thank you note for the business!! Classy!
