they came out to unstop a toilet then we asked about the kitchen sink.  They said the slant was not enough.  The had to cut into the exterior wall and cut into concrete outside the house.  They were clean and neat.

He came out and he wanted to charge me 500 Dollars for installing a faucet in the kitchen. I had purchased the faucet. I would never use him again, he overcharges, and he has no basis for the charges. He has been around for a long time. He uses a book for the charges, and he runs half page ads in the yellow pages. I used him a long time ago, and I think I may have been satisfied with him at at that time. I didn't have much contact with him, because as soon as he mentioned the price, I said forget it.

This was the 3rd time that I have used them ( at 3 different houses).  They were excellent, always came on time, professional, very reasonable and most importantly very honest. When asked if the faucets needed changing at a rental, they stated no, the plumbing works just fine. I really appreciate them being honest and as a result I have used them 3 times and will continue to use them in the future and have already given their number to family and friends. An appointment was set up through my home warranty company. I recieved a call and made an appointment for the following day. Some 5 hours later I received another call from Mike Stern stating that after reviewing the appointment they do not cover my city. I had looked at their website the day before and my city is not only listed on their website, I live about 15 minutes from the address of their location. Very strange buisness practice!! :(

Don't do it!
They charged me $1000 and did not fix the problem.
They wanted to did up my brick patio in what i later learned (when I
hired a good plumber) was the wrong location. 3 times the plumber told
me he would bring his boss out. He never showed. He spent two days
digging a hole in my planter and was never able to get to the pipe. Then
he presented me with a 5 thousand dollar solution. As this guy spent
two days digging, and never finding the pipe, I declined. Got charged a
grand and still had the problem. Just discovered today that they broke
my underground sprinkler and left the broken piece on the ground.

Would not use Company was sent out by my home warranty companyAfter got off phone with insurance company. The plumber told me I needed a new water heater. Which he might get tomorrow.Then he told me that there would be an extra $375 charge for a 220 pressure valve.I had two other plumbers come out who I use and they said it didnt need one.
The problem is really that the Home Warranty company only pays the plumber $125 as the person at the home warranty co let slip.So the plumber is trying to make up the difference with this extra charge.
I told him to get out and that he shouldn't be playing this game.
The problem is that the warranty company is cheap and lets this happen.

I had a leak in the wall between the tub and toilet.  They came and diagnosed the problem as coming from the drain pipes.  They opened the wall and their diagnosis was correct.  They had to remove some of the other ABS pipes to get to the one that leaked, which turned out to be cracked.

Very professional.  This is the third time I have used this company and I will continue with them in the future.

I had a stoppage in my main line where it meets the city sewer. I am in the hills and the area with the blockage is about eight feet deep. I was told by another plumber, after he couldn't cut the roots with his snake, that he would need to dig down to where the pipes meet, cut the roots and make repairs to the pipes, at a cost of thousands of dollars. Mike Stern Plumbing (Steve Ortiz) came out and took a look with his camera (at no charge) and told me he could bring out a hydro-jet machine that uses water under high pressure to cut the roots. Well it worked great and the price was right. They responded quickly and the crew was knowledgeable and professional.

They are big in this area. We had a drain pipe that was clogged, and they came out right away to unclog it. It was an emergency. They were extremely reasonable. They had a special for $49. The guy was great. He came out really quickly. I appreciated their honesty, quick response time, and good communication skills.

Mike Stern Plumbing was sent by my insurance company (First American) to replace a ?leaking water heater tank.? In order to trump up revenue (in addition to small amount they would get from the ?insurance company), they claimed that they needed to do additional UNESECCARY ?work in order to replace the water tank/heater.? For each one of these bogus repair items, they wanted to overcharge for them by more ?than 5 times their value.? One of these 3 trumped up charges was to replace a 1 foot copper hose they claimed was ?old and corroded. In fact, the hose was brand new and had no corrosion whatsoever (I?m ?an Engineer, and I know what I?m talking about). They wanted to charge $110 to replace ?it when an honest plumber would not charge more than $10 for it (When replaced ?together with the water tank it was attached to)?

The valve had not been tightened like it should have been and it flooded my basement. I called to complain and it was only when I threatened to stop payment on my check that he sent someone out to take care of the problem. When he was working on the sink, the shut off valve in the bathroom broke off. I found that it was broken a month or so later and he had not told me about it. I would not use this company again.

Every time this company comes out I can count on there being a problem that costs more money than the estimate. The last time was the final straw. Their prices are already high and they charged an extra $10.00 for gas!! I'll never call them again.
