I have used Curry Brothers twice to repair or replace broken garage door openers. Both times it went very smoothly. They answered the phone immediately when I called and were friendly and helpful. The repair persons came on time and did the work quickly and efficiently, and took the time to show me how the openers worked and to program my car system to open them. I would recommend Curry Brothers without hesitation.

Hector came the very next day after I made the call. The old garage door was bent and unusable. We didn't want to leave our 2 cars outside for many nights so Curry Brothers made sure we had prompt service. Hector was very fast as well as professional and had the new door up in short order. We have used this company for over 30 years and have always been happy with their service.

It's quite an old opener, so I'll need a new one eventually, but they managed to make this one work for a while longer.

Curry Brothers came out, replaced the main spring, checked on the stability of the garage door.
They were prompt, courteous and a pleasure to do business with.

they did a great job on a new construction (custom size) garage door. our contractor was a disaster (craig tozer, sanctuary construction) but these guys delivered a really nice modern door. the contractor was to have all the electrical wired before they came out for the installation (he didn't) but they came back again to finish the job at no additional charge to us. the contractor also specified the wrong color weather stripping and they came back to replace the stripping at a cost we considered very fair and nominal. the cost was a few hundred dollars less than quotes we got from west los angeles garage door installers.

We had used Curry Bros. over 30 years ago, and were very pleased with the wood door they built, at the time. Then, about 10-15 years ago, or so, we decided it was time to have another door made. For whatever reason, we didn't use Curry Bros. that time, and I was miserable with the finished product. The quality was terrible--with knotholes all over, etc.. As one would expect, the door did not hold up well--it buckled in the middle and generally looked horrible.

We recently ordered a new door from Curry, and it was installed a few weeks ago. It is exactly what I wanted!!! I had seen a design I really liked on their website, but it was manufactured in metal, which I definitely did not want. We were told that they would make the door exactly as I specified, in wood, and they did just that. The new door is wonderful and beautifully executed. One can tell by the way it is finished that it is of the finest quality available. I am grateful to the folks at Curry Bros., and would highly recommend them!

For 30 years we had always had a regular lift-it-yourself wooden garage door. After giving our exterior front yard an expensive face-lift which included a $14,000 new concrete driveway, we decided to splurge for a new automatic garage door. We did some research and got some bids. On 11/21/2009 "Angel", from Curry Bros. gave us a bid that seemed high, but not out of line. We went for the top-of-the-line door --- we wanted it to look nice and also be strong enough so that our grandkids couldn't dent it with the basketball. Patricia, the office manager, set up an installation date for 12/23/09 between 8 and 9 AM. Early that morning I cleared out the garage and put our cars in the street. At 10:30 no one had arrived. I called and Patricia said she'd get back to me. She didn't. I called again at 2:30 PM and finally got some excuse about the manufacturer, Amarr, not delivering the door to them. No apology for not getting back to me. A new installation date of 12/30/09 was set. Adrian, the installer for Curry Bros., arrived on the 30th and installed the door. He noted that one of the panels had several golfball-sized dents in it. He installed the dented panel with the dents on the inside and called the office. He told me they would order a replacement panel and would install it ASAP. They would call me. Adding insult to injury, after Adrian left I noticed a huge rust stain on my brand new driveway where he had parked his truck. I immediately used all kinds of solvents but I couldn't get rid of it. It's still there. Anyway, Curry Bros. never called about the panel. I finally called Patricia on 1/13/10 -- two weeks later. She never apologized for not getting back to me and didn't say much about the stained driveway ("We always tell our drivers to park their trucks in the street...."). She set up an installation for Friday,1/15/10 between 8 and 9 AM. She said someone would call on Thursday to confirm --- they didn't. And no one showed up on Friday. I was so angry that I couldn't call Patricia. My wife called and told Patricia that the constant no-shows, clearing out the garage, etc. was more frustrating than having the damaged panel. She asked Patricia for a firm commitment for the installation OR for a discount for the damaged panel. Patricia said she would check with the owner and get back to us. She didn't. Two weeks later, after I had written an angry email to the owner, Michael Curry, a man named Cary, who said he was Patricia's husband, called and apologized for the delays. He said Amarr, the manufacturer, would discount $125 and that Curry Bros. would just cut us a check for that amount. A MONTH later still no check or any contact from Curry Bros. I called Patricia and she blamed the delay on Michael Curry --- he was out of town. She said she'd send the check out immediately. On 2/18/10 we received the check for the damaged panel. All this could have been avoided if she had just followed-up on details.

Probably the best home improvement project we've ever done--and we've done many over the past 10 years. Curry bros' service right from the person who answers the phone, is courteous and efficient. Mike is not only great at representing his business but he is reliable, kind and a pleasure to work with. There isn't a person at this company who wasn't responsive and professional.

The installer was on time, friendly, obviously happy in his work, and clearly in command. His relaxed attitude and quick work made it all look easy and I was confident the job would come out right. And it did.

Installer showed up over an hour late. While removing old door, he scattered screw, nuts, bolts, etc. all over the garage floor after he hit a set of drawers containing fasteners. I wound up picking it all up. I complained to the office and received a slight price reduction. I still have lots of hardware to sort.

Nine yeas later, I damaged my garaged door by backing into it. I called Curry Bros and got voice mail, where I left a message. I got a call back from Patricia about 10 hours later. I sent her an e-mail with a picture of the damage. When I got no response, I called the next day and she said someone would come look at the door between noon and 2 PM. When no one had come by 3:30, I called again and got voice mail. I never heard from them again.

Jose was on time and very efficient. The quality of work was excellent. He was gone in 45 minutes. It showed they knew what they were doing. The new door looked great and fit perfectly. This lightweight door works much easier than the old wood one. Curry Bros. was not the cheapest and not the most expensive but their work was second to none. Highly recommended.
