The Solar Company was great in all aspects of my Solar System installation. First, I have been a business Analyst and in Customer Service for a fortune 500 company for over 30 years and its my job to analyze and come up with the best deal. After running 4 major Solar companies through the mill, I decided to go with the Solar Company for several reasons. 1. The best Solar Panels- Sun Power are used. They are superior panels compared to the panels all the other companies were using. They constructed better, more reliable, have higher output and industry best efficiency over time. 2. Their Combo Loan Financing is Fantastic. I got one loan for no payments and no interest for the amount of the Tax Rebate I will be getting. When I get my tax rebate for Solar, I simply pay off this part of the Combo loan, NO upfront cost at all. The 2nd portion of the loan is a 12 year loan for the balance of the Solar installation at a great interest rate of 2.9% and is only $112 per month. 3. The Warranty is GREAT. The Sun Power Panels have 25 year warranty, and the Solar Company doubles the Inverter warranty from 10 to 20 years. All the other companies kept their inter warranties at 10 years.

To summarize the Savings, I will be saving approx $157 per month on my electric bill for the next 12 years while the System pays for itself. The $157 savings pays my $112 Solar loan plus puts $45 per month in my pocket. After 12 years I will save the entire $157 since I own the System. (Savings are actually higher since I have NO PGand E annual increases on this $157 I am saving). Some may say that The Solar Company is great but a little higher in cost. I found, through my analysis work, that with the 2.9% financing cost was about the same as others since they didn't have special financing and would have to obtain 8-12% personal loan financing, Plus the Sun Power Panels are so much more efficient, and you wont have to buy an inverter after 10 years, so cost projects to be lower overall.

Now for customer service. The Solar Company had great communications with me all along the way. Every time I had questions, they communicated promptly. The combination of great customer service, friendly knowledgeable reps, super quality panels, and fantastic Financing made the Solar Company a hands down BEST BUY and enjoyable experience for me. I would highly recommend The Solar Company to others.

All details of the planning, preparation and installation were handled professionally AND promptly. At the end of the first year, we were not getting the predicted electrical output that was initially promised. The Solar Company checked things out and then installed four additional panels at NO COST. No charge for the panels or labor. Output now completely covers my electrical costs except for the $4 or so per month that PGand E requires. The Solar Company's price was a little higher than some other companies; however, the materials they use (produced by Sun Power) are considered the best in the industry and, in my opinion, worth the extra cost. Also, The Solar Company has their own experienced work crews, while many of the other companies sub-contract out the actual installation, in which case who knows the expertise or experience?

As an owner of an electric car, we needed to do something to reduce our electric bill. I contacted three solar companies who provided multiple estimates of various size systems with multiple purchase and leasing options. Because of limited roof space with the right orientation, I decided to go with the higher efficiency SunPower panels. Harry Kauffman explained what was needed and how it could connect into my house wiring. He provided an estimate for what I wanted. When I had some concerns with warranties and mounting hardware, he cleared these up in the contract.
The Solar Company installation was scheduled as soon as they received utility company approval. When the crew arrived, they walked through the entire installation with me so that we were in agreement on everything before they started. I'm an electrical engineer with a lot of wiring experience, so I didn't want any surprises. Everything progressed as planned and I was impressed with the quality of their work. I was amazed they could complete the entire installation in one day.
The system was turned on as soon as we received permission from the utility company. Initially the system output was low due to an inverter configuration error. The Solar Company immediately sent out a technician to fix the configuration. The system has been working great since then. I really like the online monitoring system that allows me to track the system output in real time. It was a pleasure to work with a company that was experienced and professional.

This is an excellent company that I would recommend to anybody. A salesman came to my house and gave me a wonderful presentation. I didn't sign up right then but did a little more research. Then I called them back and said "Yes". I got feedback from Felicia every single Friday on where we were on the process all the way to completion. Everybody was very professional including all of the installers. From what I know about the company, it's a mom and pop type store even though they might have 40-50 trucks and a bunch of people working for them. It's a family business. Keeping me informed was just wonderful. They told me when they were going to come and install. They always showed up. They actually did the install in two days. They took care of everything for me. I've even recommended them to my mother.

I thought they were very knowledgeable and was able to set up a lease program.
