Gutierrez Painting Company

PLEASE BE CAREFUL.
I had Gutierrez painting company paint my home 6 years ago in August of 2008. I asked
them to return to refresh the job with the original colors and do some deck
repair.
FACT AND DOCUMENTED:
They used the same paint from
6 years ago to refresh my paint job. 
They used the old paint I kept in my garage that I only kept to
reproduce the colors.  The cans were
clearly rusted and old.
 FACT AND DOCUMENTED:
The owner, Jose Gutierrez,
leaves for Disneyland and instructed me to go and get the wood, screws and
other tools for the repair of the deck. 
I trusted I would be reimbursed. 
I was not.  He felt that the
painting of my small deck railing (WITH the old paint from 6 years ago) should
erase the cost of the supplies, which exceeded $700.00.
 FACT AND DOCUMENTED:
 I paid him nearly $6000.00
dollars with no reimbursement and the use of OLD PAINT. I did not find out he
used the old paint until after I paid him.
 Yes, I feel stupid.  Please be mindful when selecting a contractor
of any kind.  This ended badly.  Protect yourself.

They emailed a professional form contract and followed all things we agreed on, no extra or hidden fees. No problems at all!

Our basement project took 500 days to complete. When it was time to paint, I did not use our general contractor, I called Jose Gutierrez because after all that work, I did not want to take any chances. It was absolutely fabulous how they helped me through the choices of picking a color I felt confident with. With the new hardwood floors and stairs they carefully protected them and prepped and primed and painted and cleaned until it was perfect. I was 110% happy with the result.

I thought the price they charged was fair. I think they do excellent work. I think their prices are good for the quality of work they do. The owner has done four different jobs in this house. Their prices are better than most professional painters and the quality of their job is excellent. I would definitely use them again. They just gave me another estimate to paint the exterior of my house. It was expensive and I don’t have the money to do the work now. I will get that job done next year.
