I designed my kitchen at the Carson Ikea. It took about 3 hours to design the entire kitchen. They were very helpful in the design, the computer software they use is very user friendly. I had the entire kitchen delivered for a meager $59 and it truly is hundreds of pieces. I used an independent installer and voila! I have a very chic kitchen for half of what it would have cost to do it through a kitchen showroom. The only thing I would not recommend is using Ikea's stone contractor. It has been a month and I am just getting my quartz counters today. There are much better and more efficient stone contractors that can be found here in Los Angeles.

MATT LARRABEE CHARGES $100.00/cabinet to install - NOT WORTH IT!!! Because of MATT LARRABEE's sloppy workmanship, what should have taken one day ended up taking four weeks! - He damaged cabinet fronts, misaligned door hardware and failed to fix his work in a timely/professional manner. The only way I was able to get him to come back and fix his sloppy work was to get IKEA to call him. It took three more visits to finally get it done.

IKEA is a huge warehouse full of furniture. You select what you want and then pick it up from the warehouse. If you need assistance there are sales associates there who are very helpful. I feel like the prices are unbeatable, I can't find a lower price anywhere.

The overall was very good. Ikea has a program that you can download to help plan your kitchen. You can pick your cabinets and drag them into your kitchen. Then you can look at it in three dimension views. This helped us to visualize and modify our original plan. The people in the kitchen section were very knowledgeable. Our 19 cabinets arrived in 104 boxes. My wife and I enjoyed assembling the cabinets. They are extremely well engineered. A contractor who helped install them was very impressed. Suggestion: When you order a cabinet, it comes in several packages. One is the cabinet. Another is the shelves. Etc. We ordered cabinets that were the same, but the number of shelves was far more than we needed. Don't unpack the shelves until you are sure you need them. We had many extra. Ikea has a very liberal return policy if you have receipts and packing. We returned more than $300 dollars of our $3500 bill. We ordered our engineered counter tops from Ikea. They use a subcontractor in So. Calif. They did a great job. After they installed our counter tops we found minor flaws. They came back and fixed all of them and found a few more that we didn't find. The only negative in our whole experience with Ikea was the counter tops. I got a call from Ikea that the counter top subs said the job would cost $30 more than Ikea's estimate. I had to pay the $30 by 5pm that day or the delivery would be delayed. They were holding me up for $30 on a job that cost more than $3000. Luckily for me they got me on my cell phone and I went to Ikea and paid up. I tried to pay by the internet, but was told this was impossible. I spent more than $7000 at Ikea on this kitchen, but I was given no slack. This is bush.

Ikea is a fun place to shop, except for the long checkout lines on weekends. The bookcase was easy to assemble and is functional but nothing fancy. We get lots of compliments on the rugs; they look more expensive than they actually were.
