They replaced the roof in two days. The first day, they removed the old roof and replaced rotten boards. The second day they put on the new roof and cleaned up. They did a good job at a good price and worked very efficiently.

I have known Steve for almost 20 years so I was already aware of his outstanding work ethic and commitment to his craft. What I didn’t know until AGL did a complete relay of our tile roof was how fair he was, as well. Although I did know him, out of prudence, we had other companies provide bids. Steve’s proposal not only was the most concise, it was also the clearest and easiest to understand. When I called him to ask questions, he was patient and fully explained the answers to me. After also speaking to the other companies, it was an easy call to go with Steve and AGL. While he used superior materials and the latest techniques, he was also the lowest bidder. The actual work took a full week and there was no disappointment here. The crew of five that did the work were conscientious and seemed to really know what they were doing. They cleaned up at the end of every day and bent over backwards to accommodate us. That should have been no surprise as It turns out that, incredibly, the crew had worked together for 15 years and a couple had been with AGL for 20. Steve stopped by almost every day to check on progress and further explain things to us. This is when discovered his fairness. When the inevitable issues arose and some changes to the proposal were necessary, Steve did not take advantage of situation and soak us but charged a fair price. In one case he just included it in the original price. My wife and I are quite pleased and we would highly recommend that you use AGL Roof Co. should you need to replace your roof, as we did. A neighbor who saw AGL working on our house is also planning to use them. He got other bids, as well. His friend that is retired from the roofing industry told him it AGL’s was the most detailed proposal that he had ever seen.

Went very well. Process of rescheduling due to rain went smoothly. Roof looks good and clean-up was very good. Highly recommend. Price not the lowest but feel like a comprehensive job was done.

Initial appraisal was done quickly and start date established. Crew was prompt, efficient and hard working. Owner was attentive to workers requests and maintained a good rapport with crew. We have used AGL for 2 other projects after the initial roof replacement. I have recommended them to others and they have also been satisfied with there work.

Far far better than expected!!!! Our roof is a show stopper when people drive down our street. People are already asking which roofer I used. I am becoming a cheerleader for this company. The crew that works for Steve, the owner, is top notch. The foreman checks out EVERY detail to make sure that the roof is done correctly. They worked diligently and carefully even working late to get the job done on time. Steve takes the time to explain why they use the materials they do so the roof will last forever. AGL was very professional and did a a great job replacing our roof. We got several quotes and are very happy we went with AGL. They completed our roof in 2 days and picked up after themselves thoroughly. The crew were friendly and knowledgeable and most importantly our roof looks amazing. Prior to doing the work, Steve let me know all the pre-implementation steps I needed to take to protect my property, a complete list of services they would provide, and also supplied me with a list of things that could go wrong. The crew showed up on time as promised each day. The work was completed on time despite unknown complications in the prior application and very hot weather. After the work was completed, the crew did a complete cleanup around the house.

Steve at AGL came out for my estimate and was well prepared. He showed me the materials he was going to use and why. He gave me a list of previous homes he's roofed must of been 4 to 5 pages front and back. It included the type of shingle, color, and address. I could see for myself his past work and the work his crew did. It also gave me an idea of color combinations. He gave me letters of reference, copies of insurance, and material samples. They originally scheduled my re-roofing for 3 days but ended up completing it in 2 days. The tear off and one minor repair was done in half a day (much faster than expected). The new roof was put on in a day. Our skylight framing was repaired, two vent fans installed and the flashing around the chimney done correctly. The crew was quick, efficient, and cleaned up after everything was done. They even cleaned up materials that had fallen onto the neighbors side of the fence. Steve was also great about answering my questions after the job was completed and even stopping by to make sure I was satisfied. I did get a couple less expensive quotes for the work, but Steve's presentation and estimate was so well organized I thought it was worth the extra money.

I would recommend this company if you need a new roof. They were punctual and cleaned up after they were done. When I got the estimate I was told that there might be some additional cost because my roof sagged in spots. They could not tell me how much it would be until the old roof was removed. As soon as the old roof was removed we went onto the roof and they showed my why it was sagging and the options to fix it. I chose to put new plywood on the roof. Because they told me there might be an addition cost I was not upset about this fact.

An awesome and the BEST contractor experience with quality work and a great crew! It all started with a phone call to AGL’s office on 9/7 to schedule an estimate for a new roof. Spoke with Jazmine who was very pleasant and helpful. She informed us we would get a call back from Steve Shepard, who is the owner of AGL Roof Co. Steve called and he came out on 9/8 to give us an estimate for a new roof. Steve shared information about AGL, being a Factory Certified GAF Master Elite Weather Stopper Roofing Contractor, the roofing products AGL uses, state contractor license, AGL insurance coverage, city permits, as well as suggestions when getting roof estimates. After getting 4 other roofing company estimates, we reviewed several sources on AGL’s Reference List, which included looking at 5-7 roofing jobs that Steve did in our neighborhood and we also called a reference (that was a friend) that had their roofing job done by Steve earlier this year. We confirmed a few references and they were “Excellent” regarding Steve, their roofing job, and AGL’s crew who are courteous, hard workers and they clean up when they are done for the day. On 9/28, we decided to go with AGL which will be a 2-day job and signed a contract to have our roof tear on 10/24 and a new roof to be installed on 10/27. The reason for a split day for our roof installation was our choice because we were working with another contractor on an Energy Upgrade project in our attic that affected our new roof with removing vent pipes no longer being used, combing existing air vent pipes, possible future placement of solar panels and adding a new vent for a relocation of our furnace. Our old roof was removed on 10/24 but with rain expected to be here on 10/27, Steve made arrangements to have his crew at our home on 10/26 @ 9:30 AM to start the roof install and they were here again on 10/27 @ 9:00 AM and completed our roofing job. Everything looks great and we’re now ready for the rain. This was the BEST experience we have ever had with a contractor. Steve is extremely helpful, thorough in explaining everything, informed us as to when his crew will be on the job site and any updates that may affect our roofing job. Steve is also friendly, knows his business and competition, his estimate was reasonably priced and gave us total customer satisfaction. I highly recommend Steve and AGL with the highest score for any contractor – Steve Shepard is the BEST!

The roofing crew led by Ivan did a great job removing our 35yr old cedar shake roof and replacing it with a fantastic looking Boral CedarLite Ironwood roof.  They put down new plywood decking and the Boral TileSeal roofing system is impressive.  Owner Steve Shepard was very thorough during the quoting process and we discussed painting, skylight and gutter install logistics.  Steve kept the roofing job moving smoothly, communicated frequently and was flexible in allowing us to get our house painted before the final tile install, which we greatly appreciated.  The only hitches were we did not coordinate on drip cap color which the painter took care of and adding a vent at the end but otherwise excellent!  Steve made sure we are happy and I highly recommend AGL.  We and have received many compliments from our neighbors on how great the roof looks!  Thanks Steve and AGL!

We where very impressed with Steve the owner of AGL.  We had leaks in our roof and needed a whole
new roof.  Our home is 3,405 square feet,
and we have a detached garage/guest house in the back.  To me it was a big project.  Steve came out and did a fabulous job
educating me on materials and how the roofing process worked.  He got on our roof and took photos and walked
through all the issues of our roof.  Plus
he found the leaks. His packet he left me was very professional.  In his packet was a large list of all the
roofs he completed, and referenced colors of shingles.   He suggested we drive to the homes and see
his work, and it will help us figure out the new shingle color.  That was a great list!  It helped us a lot.  His packet also included swatches and detailed lists of what to expect.  He answered all my questions and had a wonderful attitude and personality.
His estimate came right away and was easy to understand.
We picked Steve out of four other bids.  He was far more professional and knowledgeable then other roofers I met.
His crew was very professional and cleaned up after each day of work.  We where very happy with Steve and his
crew.  We highly recommend AGL roof Co. for the work they did on our home.   

AGL's owner is top notch.  He'd helped me do a "tune up" on the roof at my previous house and I was so impressed with him I only made one call when I needed roofing services again.

After the horrible experience with the first builder who did a major remodel for me, I asked Steve to come out and inspect the roofing work that had been part of the remodel.  Almost everything the original builder had done was low quality and in the case of the roof, just done wrong.  Steve took the time to explain why the roof was already showing signs of leaking and explained how it should have been done.  After I hired him, he was on the job site every day and even coordinated with the stucco company to make sure the work the two companies were doing wouldn't interfere or damage the other's.  As I see it, the roof is the one thing standing between your home and the elements so it should be done right.  I couldn't be happier with AGL, though from what I can tell I may not need a roofing company again for 30 or so years...

Steve and his team were great to work with.  They answered all of our questions and it was great doing business with them.
 A group of 6-7 workers arrived each day.  The team was very organized and they worked together nicely from start to finish.   It appears they are used to working together since they had a routine going that made everything run smoothly.  At the end of the day they picked up all the debris from the ground and double checked the driveway to make sure no nails were left behind.  This is how careful they were about the job.
The roof itself looks beautiful.  It is very neat and professionally installed.  The quality of the work is easily noticed
from the ground.  In addition to all this Steve included four vents and a power vent in the bid which was nice.  All the other companies I contacted did not include the power vent.  He also placed plywood on our patio at no additional cost. 
Steve made sure that our roof had whatever it needed so it can last us a long time.  This is something we really appreciated.
Steve came by every day to check on the progress and on the last day he asked if we wanted to go to the roof and inspect for ourselves which we did. 
Steve was also great about returning phone calls and emails.  I can see Steve takes his business seriously and is very dedicated to it.  He enjoys what he does and it shows.

Steve (the business owner) did a excellent presentation, educating me in what the job would entail. He was very thorough in explaining to me what he recommended that I have done to my roof and why. Although I did receive lower bids, he discussed with me in detail, line by line item on each bid, why these estimates were lower and that he could match them if I wanted him to. But he explained, in the the long run, why it would be better for me to do it according to his bid. I told him I would get back to him on it. Then I went and checked out the roofs on the extensive list of references that he provided for me in my neighborhood and was impressed, I then called him back. After negotiating a little and also applying the Angie's List $400 discount we came to what I felt was a fair price for the work that was to be provided.
Steve said it would take 4-5 days to complete the job. He had to delay the start 2 days due to rain (a very wise choice). But then still finished in 3 days, except for the skylights which had to be ordered. Work crew  was very professional and cleaned up after themselves every day before they went home. By the A grade that I gave them, you can tell that I was very happy with the job they did for me and would highly recommend AGL to be your roofer if you are in need of one.
